I wonder if the Miami Herald is aware that Clint Curtis has taken a lie detector test and passed but Feeney hardly will even talk on the record, much less take the test?

Open call for Feeney to take a lie detector test. Can't we start our own petition?

Mr. Brian #6 Perhaps we could get the email address of journalist Robert Steinbeck of the Herald, and email him about this factor.

He may not be aware of the lie detector test Curtis took nor of the fact Feeney has not.

Perhaps he would ask Feeney to take the test in a future article?

A good article. Not screaming from the rooftops yet, but Steinbeck addressed a lot of important points.

I'm glad Steinbeck wrote this: "low-tech vote-counting systems make fraud attempts more labor intensive, and thus more readily detected. Paper ballots can be forged or lost, for example, but attempting to swing elections using such methods almost surely requires a team of conspirators, and likely would leave a trail of evidence. With computerized voting machines, a hacked line of code can instantly alter thousands of votes.

And this line is another keeper: "victors, after all, never question the score --- or the scoring.

But, isn't it a shame --- it seems to be the norm in our country --- that winning is more important than playing an honest and ethical game?

John Kerry (D-MA) cited satirical or humor-based sources when he commented recently on instances of fraud in the 2004 general election.

Taranto claimed that Kerry "embarrasses himself" by doing so, and referred to Kerry as "dense." But Kerry's comments were in fact based on real news reports of attempted fraud.

I have sketched out a BRAD BLOG FUNDRAISER BLOGATHON concept and have already shared it with several Brad Bloggers by e-mail. All have expressed enthusiasm about what I presented to them and several have given additional excellent suggestions. I am trying to incorporate these suggestions (and some other ideas based on some of your comments on various threads) into the overall concept to try to create a Blogathon that will go beyond just fundraising for Brad and try to do something positive for Progressive blogsites, in general. TERESA commented in a recent thread: "... more and more people will be coming to the blogs. That's where it's happening now. Money will be coming as well. I think it is important for us to absolutely keep up this wonderful intelligent dialogue, without too much complaining, and people will be tuning in more and more. They will want to be a part of this growing movement. We are in the vanguard. I take our responsibilty seriously." These are my sentiments, exactly. This is where the Revolution has already begun and we need to do everything we can to further it and to support the vanguards of the vanguards, like Brad and the Brad Blog. I don't have e-mail addresses for most of those I mentioned above. I would like to share what I (with the help of others) have come up with and add your ideas to the mix before presenting the final proposal to Brad, hopefully in the next week. Not only don't the victors question the score or the scoring, but according to American tradition, nobody else (including the losing candidate!) is expected to question it either. Meanwhile the United States has no compunction about telling Ukraine their own election was rigged.

It's laughable, when you think about it. A columnist for the New York Times writes that Intrade, a futures market in Ireland that handles huge bets on upcoming events (like wars, elections, who the next Pope will be) called every one of the 50 states accurately last November. This is "remarkable," John Tierney writes, but he fails to acknowledge the obvious...that if a "smart money" off-shore marketplace got it right, but the exit polls (which represent actual voters) were off by 5-1/2% (sic), then somebody knew something that other people aren't supposed to know about what happened on November 2.

We should be sure to let people know when they're doing well, as well as when they are doing poorly. When I became a regular netizen several years ago, one policy I adopted was not to just criticize those whom I think are doing poorly, but to make it a point to drop a line to those sites I visit on a somewhat regular basis and tell them I enjoy their site and appreciate the work they've put into it.

I don't know if this has ever been suggested before, but have the legit reporters of the bloggerverse ever considered forming their own MSM? Much like Fox News represents those who are on the right, this service (let's call it "WebNews") would represent those who are IN the right. You could form your own association of journalists whom you know are on the up-and-up, create your own news features, which would be posted on the web (not just articles, but video newscasts), and compete directly with the MSM. If they won't ar the stories (and some local stations might, given proper encouragement), then outsource. If these stories start showing up on newscasts in Europe et al, especially if they are shown in Canada, it would pressure the MSM to cover the stories properly, or step aside for those who will.

It could be the blogging journalist's equivalent to the AP. Just a thought. (It's easier to come up with ideas than the money to pay for said ideas.)

One little amusing tidbit to close with. I saw this comment from an article on a pro athlete who is a member of the "upper class", and it immediately made me think of the Republicans. The article refered to "the haves and the have-yachts".

Well, I got a chuckle from it.

comment#25, this is a great idea journalist bloggers getting a newspaper or tv show. I'm sure when we get back our country,i.e. have a democracy again..someone will do a market survey..see that there is definately a need and market..I'd invest. Right now, we have state media though.

Thanks to Brad Blog and everybody who is working so hard to fight this evil BS. I had a husband in Iraq last year and who knows when he'll be going back - could be tomorrow for all we are guaranteed right now. A five year old who is disabled and requires 2+ surgeries every year for about the next 8 years, and one unhappy to be military teenager right now. I so have my hands full at this moment and I so rely on you who are able to fight this fight right now!! If you guys weren't out there on the frontlines right this minute I shudder to think how much worse this all could be at this moment! I awaken every morning and check on how things are going and I feel hope!! Somedays it was small but it was hope none the less. You guys are really getting somewhere now because you did get in there every single day and fight and fight and fight for the truth about all of this. I send you much love today!
