What a Difference a Day Makes.

I'm happy to report that folks are starting to catch on to all of this. Hunter over at DailyKos gives a very sober and detailed analysis of where things are at this point in regards to both counting votes and the serious potential fraud being looked at, much of it that we've reported over the last two days here in various items.

Lots of good and new information in that piece is offered as well. Including this little "anomaly" discovered in the released Franklin County, OH voting results in PDF format:

Franklin County, OH: Gahanna 1-B Precinct
638 TOTAL BALLOTS CAST

US Senator:
Fingerhut (D) - 167 votes
Voinovich (R) - 300 votes

US President:
Kerry (D) - 260 votes
Bush (R) - 4,258 votes

AP has now picked up that story, and some of the others I'd been telling you about over the last couple of days. But perhaps even more notably, Drudge(!) is also now pointing to that article!...So I guess it's now officially "news"!...DEVELOPING HARD...

Buzz this story!

Brad, the Franklin County link isn't working. It may be that there are too many his there, but please double-check your url. Thanks.

Brad,
thanks for your dailykos link on the other thread. I had read that already....so, do you think we're trying to revive a "dead horse", or do you think we can chart a course of change before the EV are actually cast? I know I'm being such an idealist, but I'd love nothing more than to have this whole "mandate" thing overturned.

Are the K/E folks privy to what's going on? Any involvement? Their attorneys? Michael Moore and folks doing anything? What can a person like myself, mad as hell, in Bend, OR do?

Shari,

The best thing is to share this information with everyone you know, and keep it on the table.

Also, it's very important from this point forward not to leap to any conclusions, and not have an agenda in looking at data. Keep searching and looking for credible information, and avoid speculating on the great what-ifs should this all turn into something larger. The best offense is to be reasonable, and communicative!

Also go to www.BlackBoxVoting.org, they're doing a sincere job and need assistance if you're looking for further involvement.

Glad to hear Oregon is still blue over this election!

[ed note: I corrected Bryan's link to BlackBoxVoting.org above]

Bryan, looks like the .PDF document with the raw Franklin County returns (linked in the item above) has been taken down. I've noted that in the item now.

Shari, I don't know where the K/E folks are on this, but I'm sure they must be at least paying attention. I would not, however, count on *them* to do anything here. I believe, in large part, this is now up to US to help build the case, and give it enough momentum that the Media *must* look into it.

Evidence this morning shows that they may be beginning to do just that (AP and CNN, etc. now reporting on some of these items finally). In the meantime, it's clear that *we* are the ones who need to circulate this information and help build a ground swell to ensure these matters are *thoroughally* investigated by the media and/or election officials.

We are certainly David against Goliath here, but David won in the end as I understand.

And I've witnessed in the past week via various stories that I've reported (here's one for example) that a few folks can make a difference!

So keep making noise whereever you can. Point folks to all of this information, and watch the world change.

Finally, it's worth noting that this isn't --- frankly --- about Bush or Kerry. It's about counting all the votes and recording the will of the people in a Democracy. If attention and/or investigations and/or manual recounts show that Bush won the few votes that *seem* now to have given him the Presidency, so be it. But I will do everything I can to ensure that either of them have won it fair and square. We cannot tolerate a stolen election as we clearly had last time!

Cracker/GOP/LOLOLOL - Your inane comments are welcome here. Your continuing use of different names, replying to yourself under them, etc. are not.

So final warning. Either knock it off, or your WellsFargo/Norwest IP's from posting here entirely.

It is amazing to me that thbere is so much pressure to count the votes within 24 hours when a careful and thorough count would be so much better for the system. Although this is apparently the only precint using this machine there were some other issues in Ohio. In Perry county a punch machine double counted some votes. This is completely bizzarre.

Thank goodness Sec. Blackwell is on top of this. Oh yeah, he's the guy who wanted to discount voters because of the weight of their registrations.

Brad - the PDF appears to be corrupted somehow, is anyone else having problems with this?

Torrey - Thanks for the note. Looks like the file got corrupted somehow. Now linking to the document elsewhere, and it should now be working fine.

Thanks for catching that!

VotersUnite.org's Daily Voting News 'Daily Voting News'
for July 2-3, 2009

by Ellen Theisen

Co-Editors: Dave Klein and John Washburn

While the goals of the U.S. and the Philippines seem to be the same regarding elections --- fair and fraud-free, their methods are diametrically opposed. The Philippines is desperate to get away from paper ballots and automate their elections, and the U.S., having been there done that, is heading in the opposite direction.

Happy Independence Day! We're taking the weekend off....
