It’s out now! The Gannon/Guckert story is out in the mainstream!!
And it ain’t pretty.
If “Jeff Gannon”/James D. Guckert had been unveiled, so to speak, as a liberal imposter who lobbed softball questions at Clinton administration press briefings, he would be as infamous as Michael Schiavo.
And if 39 of those White House visits were mysteriously unrelated to his “reporting” duties, imagine what innuendoes would be issuing forth from Planet Limbaugh. Imagine the organized phone call campaign demanding newspapers and TV stations report the story.
Thus wrote Carol Towarnicky, of the Philadelphia News, in a piece published Monday.

Last Sunday was the third time in recent weeks that I came across hyper-informed liberals who have not heard the first thing about Guckert, who used the name “Jeff Gannon” to pose as a newsman from a Web site that was in reality a Republican Party front. Gannon advertised his second job as a male escort on Web sites complete with full frontal photos.
For months, Gannon/Guckert asked obviously biased questions at press briefings. He was conveniently ready when Bush spokesman Scott McClellan was being pressed too hard by reporters. Apparently none of those reporters ever thought to check out the obvious ringer in their midst. It was only when Gannon asked one of his trademark questions at a nationally televised presidential press conference in February that some bloggers noticed.
It didn’t take much digging for them to uncover Gannon’s not-so-secret identity and ask the obvious: Did the Secret Service have this information? Did the White House? But the story went nowhere then and is going nowhere now.
Just last week, a Freedom of Information Act search requested by two members of Congress revealed that Gannon/Guckert visited the White House 196 times – 39 of them days when there were no press briefings. While liberal blogs made much of the news, a Nexis search found that the Associated Press gave it only three paragraphs, which were picked up by only two newspapers nationwide. CNN mentioned the story only to say that the blogs had it. On MSNBC’s “Countdown,” Washington Post reporter Dana Milbank offered excuses for the 14 times that Gannon/Guckert’s entries or exits weren’t recorded by White House security and host Keith Olbermann seemed apologetic for bringing it up.
If reporters aren’t worried about imposter journalists, at least they should smell a good story in a possible White House security breach.
With an explosion of media, much of it partisan, the role of actual journalism becomes even more critical. Yet the bright line between news and fair comment on one hand versus manipulation and propaganda on the other has all but disappeared.
Of course, Gannon/Guckert was only the most flamboyant of phony journalists to grace our airwaves in recent months: There are the paid hacks who got government money to laud government programs in their columns; there were the government video news releases made to look like actual TV reports – and which were run on many smaller stations.
Journalists get hopping-mad if CIA agents masquerade as reporters in war zones – it puts them at high risk. Yet these same journalists seem almost blasé at the assault on truth zones every day at the White House, on Capitol Hill and on a TV screen near you.
At a time when the radicals of the right, aided by the White House, seek to eviscerate constitutional protections, the news media have found a curious way to protect the First Amendment: Don’t worry that Congress will abridge freedom of the press; The press will do the job of abridging itself all on its own.

For MMIIXX: I sent Ms. Towarnicky an e-mail, citing the vote-rigging prototype request, the links between Feeney, the Florida D.O.T., and Jeb Bush, the links between Feeney, Yang/Henry Nee, the Florida D.O.T. and NASA, the links between Curtis, the Florida D.O.T. and Lemme, Lemme’s death, the fact that the Florida D.O.T. had intervened to abort the reopening of the "suicide" investigation, and the fact that Curtis had passed a lie-detector test.
I’ll forward any response I get from her.
Ya know, that’s what really pisses me off. If that kind of thing had been uncovered during Clintons era – it would have been blown sky high with media coverage, cries for impeachment and all else. Yet it happens here under the Bushits and not even a ripple. Thank the Gods for the internet and those who are willing to dig up the truth. Or we would never even be aware of these things.

It just keeps blowing my mind, every day, over and over, that a blatantly lying WAR CRIMINAL has taken a 2nd term in office as President.
The hard proof comes out in a leaked memo over the weekend in England, just days before we see whether Bush’s staunchest ally in the War on Terror gets re-elected. I searched the text of Monday’s WH press briefing for any of the relevant words, and nobody even asked a question about the Brittish document.
Is that news? CNN had wall to wall coverage of the runaway bride, but not proof that the president is a lying war criminal.
It occured to me: if/when the memo is brought up to Scotti or the President, they MUST declare it to be fake, and they must do it immediately. To not declare it as fake is to accept it as true, which would prove Bush a liar on several counts. If Bush was innocent, the document would have to be a fake, and he would have to denounce it immediately. To let it exist without objecting to it is admission of guilt.
How long will it take for the WH to acknowledge the memo, and how will they address it ????

Same here. I’m wondering if there is a physical limit to how many times a mind can be blown in a day, month, year, or presidential term, before there is a loud POP! and a person is left flopping around on the floor like a flounder blowing spit bubbles!

The Gannon threads here are months old. This has taken a long time to get out there.
Gannon is the one that is probably doing the most to get it out there cause he is seeking the public eye and evidently believes this is helping his political career. He even thinks it is helping the other neocons politically.
They had the same view on the Schiavo matter and they have the idea that the senate ethics rule changes would also help them.
These things are backfiring and they are their own worst enemy right now.
I suppose that means with the MSM so out of whack it took the neocons shooting themselves in the foot to get any attention.

I did a Google News search to see what the aftermath was of the July 2002 memo leak, regarding Blair, Bush and the decision to go to Iraq.
If the memo is accurate, & not a forgery, etc, then it proves on several counts that Bush is a lying sack of shit (apologies to sacks of shit everywhere, for being compared to our President).
Earler in the thread I posted that Bush has to immediately claim the memo is false, however, it’s too late for that. Tony Blair acknowledges the truth of the memo, and doesn’t deny it (He’s up for re-election on Thursday, this week). Obviously, this close to re-election, if the memo was false and Blair felt that it was false, he would promptly deny it’s legitamacy. But Blair has not. In fact, he acknowledges the memo to be true. What STILL boggles my mind is that nobody has lost their job or even been given a REPRIMAND for letting Gannon wander around the White House! The whole purpose of security logs, and checking in and out with the Secret Service, is protection, especially for the President and his family. So why isn’t anyone losing their job over this? And who else has been able to come and go at the White House without logging in or out?
YOU KNOW under different circumstances, the President would have an absolute FIT at the security breach – especially post 9/11!
That’s what makes me think, whomever let Gannon have that much access in the first place, especially on days with no press briefings, Bush has to know who was involved – and he’s not talking.

I believe Bush is gay and that he is flaunting it in public because he likes "danger sex."
