that's hilarious, can anyone confirm that this actually appeared in the Washington Post today?
Well, I don't subscribe to the actual pulp, but I've seen this posted elsewhere today (Hoffmania). Here's hoping...
NOTE: The Make EVERY street DOWNING ST. Campaign will now be known as:
The Make EVERY street (and car) DOWNING ST. Campaign.
That's right! Downing St. bumperstickers are now for sale!!!

This is definitely not going away - congratulations MSM, you're only almost TWO MONTHS LATE on really running with the story!
The thing that worries me now is, what kind of "Rove" can we expect to be used as a weapon of mass distraction?

With apologies to Lerner and Loewe:
"I have often walked Down-ing Street before
But the pavement 'neath my feet was ne'er this hot before
All at once our lies...go several stories high
And they're all from the street where I live
Are there lilac trees, in this part of town
Was it on a lark, we thought that WMD were found
Disenchantment pours, out of every door
And it's all from the street where I live
But oh, that cowering feeling
Just to know that Bushie is near
That overpowering feeling
That any second he may suddenly appear
People stop and stare, and they bother me
For those minutes are out front for everyone to see
Let my term go by, I won't care if I
Never go near the street where I live
Hi folks, speaking of Iraq and illegal war, I just happened to see a link on www.informationclearinghouse.info/ that made me curious so I thought I would watch it. It is a video (there is text provided as well if u can't get the video) and I thought I would mention it here. You can click on the link on the right hand side of the page titled "Video: A message in english from Iraqi Resistance movement" it is highlighted in red. I was interested to hear what the resistance movement had to say, as I suspect many of you will be as well.

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC
Anybody heard of this before:-
"According to the 1971 progress report of the U.S. Special Virus program, HIV/AIDS is a recombinant (virus) agent that has been formed by converging a leukemia and a lymphoma, a BIOLOGOCAL WEAPON. "

further to above post:-
"The original story, published by Rense.com on July 20, 2003 by Ian Gurney, is about twenty scientists, all top in their fields, who have died of "unnatural" causes (murder) since September 11, 2001. All of them specialized in microbiology. Many were experts in emerging infectious diseases and bioterrorism.
After two days on the Internet reading newspaper stories and obituaries from London, Australia, Canada, Russia, Israel and the United States, I can tell you that twenty scientists did not die since 9-11. Nope. The number is forty-four. "
google "dead scientist"

Of the AIDS crisis, Zappa offers this opinion:
A little green monkey over there
kills a million people?
That's not fair!
Did it really go that way?
Did you ask the C.I.A?
Would they take you serious,
Or have THEY been
Zappa's songs assert his right of intellectual independence, to not be bound to any particular set of "left" or "right" ideas or icons.
Like all crap detectors, Zappa's message ultimately encourages behaviors not conducive to the maintenance of a couch-potato culture. As a result, commercial radio and Music Television--two of the "keepers of the couch potato," effectively censor Zappa's comedic crap detecting.
Thanks to Bradbloggers --- we still have some Crap Detectors!!
Rock on, Bradvillians!

Sorry, meant to put #13 in the Open Thread!
re #11 ... I've been getting updates on the mysterious deaths of world-class virologists from a friend who has a phd in biology and who understands some of these things a lot better than I do ... he says in addition to their knowledge, another aspect that makes all these deaths so mysterious is that all the victims had access to top-quality labs and therefore could have helped to stop the spread of an epidemic ... if they were alive ...
Jeff Wells has been tracking dying scientists, primarily microbiologists, at his site, Rigorous Intuition. This is a very scary train of thought...
As is emerging information about the origins of the AIDS pandemic.

Yikes! This stuff is beyond what I can even comprehend. Is it that everytime a microbiologist gets close to a cure for aids they're suicided or in a small plane accident? Another link with lots of links within:
And speaking of bio-terrorism, check out ms in la's blog at CCN:

Zowie guys! I can absorb a lot and keep my head up but the continuing revelations of good guys dying is getting close to overload.
Last night I talked to a dear friend's son who did a tour in Iraq last year. He was totally in support of Bush and the story line Bush puts out. Now, since he was there, and he still supports the Bush line that Saddam was way worse than anything we have done, how does that fit with my/our belief of Bush lies and atrocities?

For DaveM: We're talking apples and oranges, and other fruit for that matter. If the debate is about how bad Saddam Hussein was, that is apples. Does your friend's son think people will change their minds about Iraq if they learn about more horrible acts committed by Saddam?
If the debate is about invading a sovereign country that represented no threat to us, that's oranges. One has nothing to do with the other.
If the debate is about a link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11, that's watermelon. There is no such link, and there never was.
Soldiers are taught to kill "the enemy." They're not taught to think about how the enemy became the enemy, or even whether the enemy really is the enemy. That's why we have civilian leadership over the military...nine times out of ten, cooler heads prevail over the military's standard approach, i.e., kill, conquer territory, then kill some more.
Unfortunately, this is the tenth time. We don't have a cooler head in charge, we have a sociopath named George W. Bush.

Jen --- WOW! That's a great synopsis of the Anthrax/Guiliani/AMI mystery. I had noted the people who got the tainted letters & realized the message.
Do you remember the Senator (I think ... ) who suddenly shut down his office --- can't remember --- was it around Christmas of 2004? He sent all his staff home because of some kind of threat, yet I never heard more about it. Anybody remember this?
Also the Dead Microbiologists --- I've been following that one for a long time, too. Sickening (no pun intended.)
Thanks for the great links.
