The Colorado SoS announced today that 10 counties may have to procure new voting machines. Their ES&S and Sequoia Optech Eagle III-P precinct scanners did not properly count the votes in last month’s election and a hand recount in the 10 counties resulted in two races being changed. Is this just an excuse to force the counties to buy DREs? I dunno but these are precinct based optical scan machines and they were being used, in part, to count absentee and mail-in ballots. …

I selected the Ohio cases for comment.
I was impressed by the language of the federal court. It was strong and should send a very clear signal to the governor and the wannabe governor and now Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell. The language is ominous for them, however, since they have the neoCon groupThink they will poo poo the charges to their own detriment, as DeLay has done, Libby has done, in the tradition of those suffering from elitist myopia.
The case was brought by The League of Women Voters of Ohio, which is non partisan (link here).
This clearly and plainly shows that Ohio is very, very dangerously out of sync with American concepts. Ohio has morphed into the worst of voting practices and has allowed partisanship to corrupt to the very core of its soul.
This lawsuit should be seen as a healing remedy, and the legislature should move ahead of the court to insert respectable and democratic election institutions so it can join the free and fair states that have done a better job.
In the same Federal District Court, as an indicator of how bad it is, an indictment against Tom Noe is being litigated (link here). Can it get much worse when pension money is stolen and given to political hacks who are neoCons like DeLay, to the detriment of the hard working people of Ohio? How Enronic, how shameful.
Note that the Noe indictment includes conspiracy theories. I say this in case any trolls are here and want to parrot the phrase conspiracy nut. Conspiracy is real and it is a crime and read the indictment and wake up ditto heads.
