No county in the United States should ever allow any voting machines without a paper ballot trail. If you can't have a legitimate recount of the vote then every one of these paperless voting machines must have an 8 X 12 picture of Bush and Cheney with their middle fingers extended and laughing it up in the direction of the voter. The legacy of the Executive branch's 2004 style of vote rigging has continued to prevail. Americans lose again.

I voted in California in the '00 and '04 elections. The election there went fine as far as I was concerned. Bush did not win.

Lies, Iraq, Katrina folly, a botched Medicare/Medicaid drug plan, No Child Left Behind, a national economic surplus turned into a gargantuan debt, increasing lobbying crime, and endless war on terror which is in fact been a war on civil rights and liberties, a "Homeland Security" agency which is by all accounts a fetid swamp of corruption, mismanagement and ineptitude, "Patriot" Acts I & II have shredded our most sacred document, the Bill of Rights, the embrace of torture has cast the US in the role of a sordid, sadistic demon wallowing in the very "cruel and unusual punishment" forbidden by its own Constitution, NSA universal spy program has turned a nation founded on reverence for privacy, free speech and due process into a cynical Big Brother with utter contempt for individual rights or liberties, two consecutive corrupt presidential elections, mega lies, and record crime in government.

Accountability will become manifest if the republican majority is voted out, because it sends a clear message to Bush.

That the prez of Equatorial Guinea would meet with executives from large oil company in Manhattan in September and find himself the target of a military coup the next March tells us a lot about the American (and British) policy towards the world's oil countries.

Equatorial Guinea is apprently rich in oil.
