VR: We’ve Got a Truck and We Know How to Use it…

Share article:

VelvetRevolution.us (an organization co-founded by The BRAD BLOG) has got a huge billboard truck that will begin driving around D.C. beginning next Tuesday.

This will be on one side…

This will be on the other side…

Feel free to leave your thoughts here in comments about any future signs you’d like to see VR make noise with around Capitol Hill.

While VR has the truck, the cost of getting the billboards made is not cheap. Thanks to the good folks at AfterDowningStreet.org/CensureBush.org for supporting the effort and helping VR raise the funds for the costs of the signage.

Your help is needed as well. Please contribute to the effort here. The Velvet Revolution thanks you…

UPDATE: JPentz of ReallyNews.com has made a printable WORD version of the first graphic available if you wish to make your own noise, in your own hometown!

Oh would I love to be there and see the looks on people’s faces!

This is excellent – A cross country tour would be great too!

I just love it! That’s what we need, first D.C. then fleets of trucks everywhere–in red states, in blue states. Democracy hits the road. Power to the people.

Make sure to drive by the offices of "The Washington Post", T.V. stations, the right-wing Think Takes, by Karl Rove’s house, and the homes of any pundits and talking heads–and then, come drive by The New York Times, CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox–See if they notice it–the truth– right in their faces.

Love it…but a word of caution here: make absolutely certain that all licences, insurance, paperwork – everything – are in perfect order! The truck will be stopped and searched, I’ve absolutely NO doubt. And crew should watch their backs when parked, have loads of ID, and prepare for "vandalism" (no pun intended) anyway.

    Good luck!

Everybody with a car and a printer should make an A4 document in landscape ,with "GOOGLE" typed in (165size underlined) accross the top half of the page. Then border the whole page and print (b/w’s OK).
Now if you get a large felt pen and hand write the most current unreported news story ,like "downing street memo" , "jeff gannon" , "election fraud" , "5 dancing Israeli’s" , "911 omissions" ,etc. Now tape it nicely inside the back window of your car ,bingo instant news alert.Change the message as new stories break "on the Net".
Like Brad says "Be the Media".
    what do ya think?

A message to real conservatives(not fake ones like Ricky!) from a real conservative:

    "From a Real Conservative

I am tired of all of the bull going around in this country concerning politics. I am a real

conservative. I’m someone that wants my privacy protected at all times. I want government out

of my life as much as possible. I don’t want to give half my income for some scheming

bureaucrat (Democrat or Republican) to line his pockets while pretending to be fixing things for

me. I want the strongest military possible because I believe in the "speak softly but carry a big

    stick policy".

But I don’t want that same military messing with my civil rights. The founding

fathers didn’t want intrusive federal government. I personally believe that if they saw what we

did with our freedom, they’d have left us a British Colony. I am tired of having billions of dollars

flowing out of our country to prop up some asshole that is screwing his people just as badly as

the current den of thieves that pretend to run this country while making their friends rich at my

    expense.

I hear all kinds of people crying about the 600 billion spent on Defense. Nobody’s

crying about how the other 2.2 trillion dollars is spent every year. I know why the "The Roman

Empire didn’t see it coming". The only difference between us and the Romans is that we haven’t

elected a horse to the Senate yet, several dozen jackasses, but no horse. And that’s for both

parties. I believe it was Ben Franklin that stated "people willing to give up freedom for secure,

    deserve neither".

I have strict set of rules I live by:

    • Don’t go out of your way to piss me off, I only take so much crap.

    • Keep your paws off what’s mine, which includes my money.

    • Stop trying to fix everything in the world at my expense.

    • Keep your nose out of the abortion issue. There’s 6 billion people on the planet already!

Keep messing around and I believe you’ll find out what happened around 1776. I find it amazing

how we pretend to be a free nation, yet every year Congress pass another 10,000 new laws all for

our benefit of course. What ever happened to the KISS principle? How to plan to enforce at this

crap? This is exactly what is happening to all of what was a great nation. Bureaucrats have taken

everything over and are now screwing it all in the ground World.Com, ENRON, GM, Ford, etc.

are shining examples of this in action. And it is happening all throughout our government too.

An excellent example of this is the Intelligence Community. The 911 commission stated that

there was too much bureaucracy. So what did we do? We add a whole new department with a

whole bunch more bureaucrats, not more analysts. This is like being on the Titanic after it hit the

iceberg and somebody deciding after spending several years rearranging the deck chairs that the

only solution is to add another deck to the ship and install an uber-captain. Ya that’ll keep the

    ship from sinking.

And we all know now what happens if you play ball their way, you get promoted to your next

level of incompetence. Way to go Hayden!"

That is BRILLIANT! Oh God PLEASE come to Florida & drive by Jeb’s house!

I’ll make a donation to VR, but I have to ask: was anybody watching CSPAN just now, the 2006 budget outlook?
Jesus God. Talk about beyond horrifying.

Paraphrasing here: it took 42 past presidents 200+ years to run up a debt of….well, whatever the hell the figure was, this president has DOUBLED it in FIVE years.

I dunno…put that on the truck? Jesus.

I love the truck. LOVE IT! But couldja maybe build a rocket ship & just take us far, far away?? Please?

I love the truck, let us know how it goes. I have a bumper sticker on my back window that has a picture of Bush and written beside it….American Errorist. I’ve gotten a lot of comments from that. Someone left me a note on my windshield on Christmas Day saying they loved it. Next truck let’s mention voting, just want them to know we know.

I think driving that truck anywhere in Washington D.C. will be just fine, 90%of Washington D.C. voted against Bush. It’s just a little reminder that Bush doesn’t fit in with Washington D.C., he needs to get back to his little ranch in Texas. One bumper sticker says, "Some village in Texas is missing it’s idiot." Good times, good times. Another idea would be to put the shoe on the other foot, so to speak with a rewording/abbreviation of your indictment of "Saddam" (though I suspect you may have meant someone else, with a name that may have been a little closer to something rhyming with "engorged tush"…so I’m assuming you like your women with a little "junk in da trunk"…? ;-D) posting the other day…perhaps a list of charges and a big caption at the end reading something to the effect of: if it’s grounds for removal of Saddam, then it’s grounds for removal of Bush/Cheney(/the whole bloody lot of em, should my opinion be known). If the bastards gonna try and rewrite law, then by all means: apply his justifications universally as law. "Great new law, Georgie! Good job! Now uh, as a peripheral to your new law–a bit of a ‘perk’, if you will– additionally, you get to have the right to remain silent (or have anything you say or do used against you by prosecution in a court of law–you get to choose!), ooh!, and the right to have an attorney present during questioning…*[click)-*-(click]*…"

Re What else to put on truck…
    Yes. Voting. Absolutely.
Supposedly the bedrock of our system and they’ve crumbled it like feta cheese.

    How about this too?
It took 42 presidents 224 years to run up $1 trillion of debt.
Bush has DOUBLED that in 5 years.

I just can’t get over that. It has my brain tied in knots.

That expression "the straw that broke the camel’s back"….it just doesn’t seem to apply to bushco.
That camel has so much evil bullshit on its back it should be flattened like a damn pancake to the ground by now.
Maybe its back broke a long time ago, around the time of Abu Graib.
So much evil bullshit. The pile is so high they don’t even remember there’s a camel under there anymore.

I love it- but the side with King George in pinstripes will totally turn off the mindless ones who need their perceptions expanded. It adds an unreal absurdity of image that contradicts the reality of an impeachment of that office. It will not be an Abu Ghraib scene- these guys wear the finest suits. I am afraid it will turn off too many people. Their little minds will find it plain insulting. No fault of your own if they can’t see beyond the imagery and into into its representations before them.

    I personally love both sides.
I find the side with just a close up of GW very clear and effective.
I just know media professionally and this will possibly turn off people who can’t handle it. Only on that one side with pinstriped GW.

I am for the cause-just wish so many people in America could see past the BS of our current government.

This is totally off topic but did anyone see the John Stewart show last night. I can’t remember laughing as much as I did last night. They showed a clip of Bush staring at a piece of equipment that was broken and dangling while he was trying to do a speech and kept stopping midway through and staring at it blankly and then it cuts to John " If it was something shiny we might have lost him for days." There was more but I’m at a loss right now. Damn funny though!

I haven’t taken full count recently, but I’m pretty sure I’ve topped 200.

For Czaragorn: Isn’t it funny how people like Johnny Damon want to get into pinstripes?

Honestly, if you’re making $10 million a year, what does another $3 million do for you? Counting New York State taxes, Johnny will be in a combined tax bracket of over 50%. So the real difference is less than a million-and-a-half. What can he do with $13 million that he can’t do with $11.5 million?

In exchange for the extra dough, he has to put up with a media market that’s even tougher than Boston’s. He has to put up with fans who will boo him mercilessly in every slump, and an owner who will criticize him publicly.

Hard to fathom, really. Especially since he’s a sensitive guy who really isn’t suited to New York. George W. Bush, on the other hand, belongs in pinstripes; alongside Steinbrenner, a convicted felon who was twice suspended by the league.

Bush is so strong he’s calling press conferences to try and reverse his 58% negative poll ratings.

His Iraq policy is so strong that the military is now stretched to the breaking point.

His domestic policy is so strong that he’ll be impeached for violating the civil liberties of American citizens.

His moral authority is so strong that a majority of Americans now believes he’s untrustworthy, his vice president’s chief of staff is under indictment, his party’s House leader has been downsized and faces two indictments, and he refuses to release documents pertaining to his administration’s response to a hurricane disaster.

As a point of note to anyone that cares.. MOST places have regulations that say if the back window is blocked, you have to have 2 side mirrors (one on each side). A rear view mirror is also not required (in most places) if you have both side mirrors.. The reasoning, I’m sure, is your back window WILL be blocked if you’re pulling a large load (like a semi does, or huge campers, or u-hauls, etc etc). As long as you can see around your vehicle with the 2 side mirrors you should be ok..

I got pulled over once, about 2 weeks before the ’04 "selection". Donut-eating mofo (there are good cops and bad cops…this guy was a donut-eating mofo) pulled me over and said I would have to remove my stickers on the rear window because my vision was impeded. I started to argue with him about all the cars on the road (you know, pickups with those big US flag window coverings, etc) that hav en orear vision and he said "Do you want a ticket or do you just want the warning I was going to give you??" He was a real prick, and pretty irritated that I would have the nerve to question him. So I shut up like the good little citizen I am while he ran my plates (nothing of course) and then I went home and checked the code. Nothing in the motor vehicle code about rear view impairment. So I printed out the code, went into the police station the next day and made a complaint for harassment, intimidation and suppressioon of my first amendment rights. The desk sergeant knew I was right, so he asked what I want done (do I want to file charges?) I said no I didn’t, but I wanted a written formal apology from the officer and that the police station should hold a "sensitivity training" on this issue, because not only was the officer wrong about the code, it sure as hell was a partisan attempt at intimidation. And I got it. I haven’t been hassled by anyone else. I figure that cops pretty much have me pegged as someone who knows their rights and the law and probably shouldn’t be fucked with – they go after easier prey, you know, prey that doesn’t fight back. 🙂

Anyway, i now have my homepage linked to my name if anyone wants to check out my Road Warrior.

I could not have said it better, being a Floridian, I would love to see it happen after our stolen election went down and stole our Democracy from us as it continues today. Go for it ……

I wish there was a way for it to come through my little town in Tennessee, but I’m so far off the beaten path, we have to import sunshine from the next county!

Then again, we ARE on the way to Jack Daniels Distillery, y’all could break for a tour….

(And no worries about over-indulging, the distillery is in a dry county)

Pointless, but if it makes you feel better…. it just makes you look stupid. Way to go, losers! See how much support you get! I want to be on your side! Yeah, Bush eats boogers!

Go ahead, impeach Bush. Cheney is President and runs twice more. if you get him also (there’s no grouds for either, but I will indiulge your wet dream for a second) you get Hastert to run twice more as an incumbant. You have to get how many, 30? 50? before we get stuck with a liberal loon. Oh well, you don’t care what the people want. Blame Diebold. What percentage of the popular vote did clinton get? 45%?

    Go ahead, make my day.

LMAO you think this will accomplish anything? If you zombies spent half the time on world hunger that you do on hating Bush, every man, woman and child would be fat. :hehe:
