Dear Newly-awakened and disenfranchised voters,
As we say down here in the Lone Star State, "It's About Damn Time!" I am very amused that this Supreme Court Justice wants to litigate this election. Maybe we will all be treated to the irony of someone finding out that the machine was rigged for him, but failed to work properly.
Somehow, the notion of an incompetently-rigged machine doesn't seem impossible with this group of Yayhoos. What I want to know, more than anything, is how cerebrally-challenged folks like Dumbya, Double-barreled Dick and their retinue got into power at all. When you realize that Scalia (yep, the SAME), Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Bremmer and many many more in this crowd were members of the Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Bush I White Houses, it boggles the mind.
Nixon may have been paranoid and power-crazed, but he was a good student throughout his academic career and he was a very smart man. Cheney got gentleman "Cs" as did Dumbya. Rumsfeld, I don't know about, but the only stellar performers in school were Condi and Wolfowitz. The rest of them were mediocre at best. So how did they get these great jobs? Who did they have to, uh, well, party with, to get there? They did not get those jobs on merit.
It's embarassing to be tricked by crooks that are as incompetent as this group. They've been caught with every misdeed: Abu Ghraiv, Reditions, Corruption, etc. yet nobody is willing to take them on. I guess ol' Steve is going to find out what most of us already know...with this gang, you don't always get delivery of what you paid for....sometimes, they forget to load the truck.
At this point, I don't care that Steve got stiffed, but I am all excited about the idea of getting this mess out in the open once and for all. Maybe that will wake the rest of the country UP!!!!!!!!!

Check this show out if you haven't seen it yet
Iraqs Missing Billions
Dr Ali Fadhil, a 29 year old Iraqi doctor, investigates what has happened to billions of dollars worth of Iraqi money which was put into the care of the US led coalition to be spent for the benefit of Iraqi people on the reconstruction of their country. He uncovers a shocking story of fraud, incompetence and corruption, unscrupulous foreign contractors who made millions from dodgy contracts, and literally billions of dollars which cannot be properly accounted for
Its got a little about Custer-Battles and Halliburton in it
Quite enlightening

MoveOn is calling all California Activists
"In the next two weeks, we can elect a new progressive to Congress—and set the stage for winning back the House in November.
Rep. Duke Cunningham (R-Calif.) took huge bribes and went to jail. On April 11th, there's a special election to fill his seat and progressive Democrat Francine Busby has a great chance.
Will you make calls from home to voters in her district? If 10,000 of us call 30 voters each—only 2 hours of calling—we can help her win and hand Republicans their first defeat of 2006. Sign up to start calling tonight or tomorrow night:
link here
If you can be on the phone (land line or cell) and on your computer at the same time, you've got what you need to make calls. Our website will give you voters to call and tell you what to say so you can get started in a few minutes."

We Count.

Dear Bruce Funk:
THANK YOU for sticking to your guns. I know you are in a pressure cooker right now, with the heat rising, but this is apparently the sort of confrontation it takes these days to get through to some of the complicit, careless, and cavalier state election officials.
The techies at slashdot.com are on your side. The most experienced software people KNOW that paper and pen and hand counting are the only way to vote and count votes. Otherwise the universe of people who know, and can audit, how our votes are counted shrinks to a few insiders, and those privileged few come at a high price; TOO high a price for our democracy.
You WILL be vindicated in the end, and be able to educate others. Hang in there, and keep using the full power of your office to do right by the voters of Emery County.
