Call me crazy, but it looks like Tom Delay got trashed not Tom Feeney.

Yep, Brad got confused. The sign by the trash can definitely says Tom DeLay. But that's ok. Liberals aren't perfect. They just think that they are!
Have a nice day!

Hey it just got fixed, thanks Brad. The title said Tom Feeney a moment ago. I refreshed and not it's fixed. Glad you caught it.
Have a nice day!

Mike J. - Oh give us a break, it's HARD to keep the names straight all the time when there are so damned many corrupt politicians!!
Perhaps you could volunteer to design a program to help us keep up. Yeah, I know, the list just keeps getting longer, but still...

Since you obviously are monitoring this site on a regular basis, what say you about Delay's decision to step aside? Magnanamous or chicken? He wants to keep his campaign cash for his defense or give someone in his stead time to run? Do you defend him or hold him accountable? Would YOU vote for him?

More to the point, the Senate recently let the American people down flat by failing to pass meaningful lobbying reform legislation.
The House Judiciary Committee blocked several amendments that would have greatly strengthened the Lobbying Transparency & Accountability Act of 2006 (H.R. 4975), then passed it on Wednesday of this week in it's watered down form which is ineffective.
Our Representatives don't really want to change their evil ways--they just want to pass some rag of an Act so they can point to it later & claim they did. Like the "Clean Air Act"...
It's really important for activists to log onto citizen.org & find out what is going on & take part in changing it.
We have power when we EXERCISE it. That does NOT mean just voting. If just voting alone worked, we wouldn't be in this mess.
We need to admit that the "silent majority" concept didn't cut the mustard.
Our failure to make our democracy a top priority by staying aware & involved on a weekly basis & "bird dogging" our reps has hurt our country.
Well, while the cat has been away, the mice have played.
Citizen.org makes it as easy as possible for citizens to follow through on their duties to their country.
They tell you what is going on, give you info why they don't like it & give you a QUICK way to make a difference by just editing a letter to suit yourself & e-mailing those involved.
It doesn't take that long to send a few every day or once a week. They'll even send you "action alerts" to your e-mail--so with just a few clicks you can be done.
A few letters don't make an impact.
A torrent from many does.

Yes, I knew that I could count on you guys to point out my typo. I was typing too fast.
After I clicked "Post" I saw the typo and clicked "Stop" but it was too late.....
I have NEVER said that only liberals make mistakes. I'm there too. But there is a difference between a typo and a name-switch. Besides, now it's YOUR side that can't take a joking comment. I guess I'm not allowed to joke here, as you do.
BTW, I'm curious: what is the origin of your name (or nickname) that you use here? Just curious, you don't have to answer of course.
I sure do give Brad a break on that. He was probably in a rush to get ready for his radio show guest appearence. Haste makes waste, as I have proved to myself on many occassions. I almost typed that at that time, but didn't.
Ok Roger. You responded to me so I'll respond to you. I took the time to see Rep.Delay's interviews on 2 different networks. He said that he thinks he could have won his election, but it would probably be close. But he also said that it would continue to get very ugly and that the voters of his district don't deserve that. He said that he is very disappointed in the actions of his former aide who was indicted. But, and this is important, he said that the prosecutor in the case told him that he is not a target of the investigation.
So since he does not want his district to have a bloody battle, I would say that his action was, as you said, magnanimus. (Not "Magnanamous")
Would I vote for him? If the prosecutor continued to say that he was not targeted or indicted AND IF the other candidate in the race has positions that I disagree with, then Yes, I would vote for him. But if the prosecutor started looking at him and the challenger has positions that I agreed with, then I could see voting for the other guy. I have voted for Democrats before.
Sounds like he wants to "give someone in his stead time to run". He said in the interviews that he thinks he can do a lot to help the Republican party from outside Congress. In fact, he is moving his permanent residence from Texas to Virginia. So essentially he is giving up his seat in Congress, but he is not giving up on working for the Republican party. I don't know yet and can't say for sure (nor can you or anybody else here) what he is doing with any campaign cash. Maybe he gives it to the party or a PAC or his replacement in the race. When we learn that then we'll know.
Have a nice day!

Thanks for the spell check.
You seem to be a smart guy. How is it that you don't see a pattern of dishonesty in this administration and Congress? The joke about politicians and lying when their lips are moving has it's basis in reality yet you trust ones like Delay. I don't get that. This is not some sort of vendetta against the republican party. this is a campaign for open and honest govenment, something we haven't had in quite a while. With all the cash floating around in Washington, lobbying scandals, corporate connections which is a MAJOR conflict of interest, etc., how can you trust ANYTHING that they say? What did you expect Delay to say? "Yes, I'm guilty of everything I have been accused of and I am a corrupt politician and deserve to be villified."? Come on. I doubt you gave Clinton any such lattitude when he made his first denials. Crap was out there all over, none of it proven but earning him the nickname "Slick Willey". I believe Delay will make many denials, even if he's found guilty. He'll continue his rhetoric that it's some politically motivated, partisan witch hunt. I've seen and heard more than enough to convince me that Bush, Delay and all the rest deserve neither trust nor benefit of the doubt at this point. Remember O.J.? Think he's 'innocent'?
