The failure of ES&S to provide their services as they are contracted to do with their customers across the nation is becoming a daily news event. Counties in Indiana are not getting their ballots on time and when they do get them they can’t be used. Summit County Ohio reports they are still having problems with the ES&S memory cards; they are getting a 4% failure rate now; and those are supposed to be cards that were checked and re-checked by ES&S before shipping. There are many tests that determine whether or not a nation is a democracy.
John Dean states that "a nation that cannot hold its commander-in-chief responsible is something other than a democracy" (link here).
We can’t hold anyone responsible in electronic voting scenarios.
Unless and until we have auditable trails that prove our exit polls wrong when those said exit polls question (in actual application of well-proven science) one of our elections.
That no exit poll has been proven wrong establishes them as the de facto standard of proper election testing and analysis for validity.
Those exit poll standards have been thrown out, lately, because they challenged the past two presidential elections.
We are something other than a democracy, then, based on Dean’s formula. Because when we throw out the exit polls we can’t hold those participating in broad scale election fraud to account. No audit trail.
And we also have a rubber stamp republican congress with validates anything the president wants to do with very, very, very few exceptions.
What do we have, then, if we do not have a democracy?
