CORYDON, Ind. Harrison County election officials will manually count ballots from at least 15 of the county’s 35 precincts after malfunctions by election equipment during the May Second primary.
The Indiana secretary of state’s Election Division has notified the county that it has the authority to recheck votes cast in precincts where election equipment malfunctioned.
Programming errors in automatic tabulation equipment connected to voting machines were discovered by county officials during the primary. It’s unclear whether the manual recount will change any race results.
Harrison is one of several Indiana counties that used voting equipment from Election Systems and Software Incorporated. The Nebraska company has come under investigation by state election officials for numerous software programming problems.
See, we don’t have those kindsa problems here in Florida. ‘Cause here it’s illegal to do a handcount, heh heh heh. It’s illegal, see?

Excellent question and one that really needs to be addressed. It sure seems like common sense to me that we need standard methods. But this opens up a whole can of worms, I believe, re state vs. federal control. Not to mention the financial aspect.
And yes, I don’t actually understand how it was legally possible for our Jebbie to OUTLAW handcounts. But I guess you’ve noticed that here in Jesusland, up is down & right is wrong (boy, is THAT ever true) & black is white.

Yes Joan, I too am a Floridian and beating my head against a brick wall. Most Floridians are clueless. They aren’t stupid, just uninformed. If it isn’t on the front page of the Sentinel, it can’t be so – that can’t happen here! It is a Repug state. Jeb is actually liked – his approval rating is quite high. If you scratch the surface though, you will see the dirt of his programs that very much favor the elite and of course big corporations, laws be damned. Sound familiar! I do hope November brings changes here. We have 2 capable Dems running for Governor, but…
