One of the first American officials to publicly acknowledge conspiracy theories in connection with 9/11 was President George Bush, who on November 10, 2001, in a speech to the General Assembly of the United Nations, said, “Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September 11.”

Just yesterday I agreed with Agent99 that we need to recognize the common ground we share with many like-minded republicans these days.
I must admit, though, that the following, from James Boyce’s
“Lamont’s Campaign: How DC And The MSM Will FUBAR The Lessons”
strike’s a chord in me, too:

“…We don’t want Democrats who can break bread with Republicans, we need Democrats who will cut their opponents balls off and serve them back to them on a platter…”

Ok, I guess it’s the same wicked chord that twanged at the idea of mailing pretzels to dubya & his flying monkeys in Congress.
What can I say? I got a twisted chord!

Here’s a video (warning – people jumping and bodies) which shows a shot of the ground at the base of one of the towers. It is between 3:01 and 3:11 in the film. Notice the debris field and the “shadows” of the building columns. Now tell me there was not an explosion at ground level within the building!

I think we have to make common cause with our fellow citizens who are registered Republicans, or leaning that way… basically everyone who is not hard right… say, from middle right all the way to extreme left… to boot out the criminals in charge of our country. I most certainly don’t include politicians in this idea, or their “handlers”.

Anyone who’s heard Tarpley on Malloy can pretty much figure that the same pressures are overwhelming everyone holding national office right now, and only a huge Democratic win, no holds barred, with numbers of insiders rounded up for treason immediately, will save us. This will mean the people will have to do more than support them at the polls. These guys will not go gently into that good night. They did not come in gently, and they have not been treating us, or anyone else in the world gently.

They’re going to open up a military amusement park with our tax dollars. I suggest some “lands” like Disney has “fantasyland”, etc…

“ABRAMOFF-land”, “NEO-CON-land”, “DIEBOLD-land”, “WATERBOARD-TORTURE WATER PARK”, “GITMO-land”, and “RECRUITMENT-WARS” instead of “star wars”. In “RECRUITMENT-WARS”, the ride is the ENTIRE PARK! The military recruiters target highschool age children at the admission gate, AND FOLLOW THEM AROUND AND HARASS THEM AROUND THE ENTIRE PARK, UNTIL THEY SIGN UP FOR THE MILITARY!!!!!!!!!!

    #18 Agent99,
So you would exclude Conyers, Feingold, Gore, Edwards, …any other possibly-not-completely-complicit&corrupt-politicians from this common ground? Not saying you’re wrong, just askin’.

Cuz if so, we of the twisted chord variety of lefties might derive some wicked satisfaction from Boyce’s recipe. (maybe topped with santorum sauce?) (Eeew. Sorry. Maybe that’s a little TOO much imagery)

I would exclude Conyers, McKinney, Waters, Murtha… some other not-strictly-complicit legislators. Edwards and Gore get a pass because they both tried hard to fight against it, and neither has continued under its weight. Fiengold gets an honorable mention, but he really only very quakingly has proposed watery remedies, can’t bring himself to really piss them off. I think Teddy Kennedy gets a pass, even as he probably knows what’s up, because his heart and soul were behind the filibuster of Alito, and raising the minimum wage — plus, there’s only so much murderation of Kennedys by this crowd that we can stand.

The rest of them are bending over backwards not to get Wellstoned, and whatever else is being held over their heads. I know they did not run for office to get killed for doing their jobs, but nobody is born in the United States and stays here into adulthood without tacitly agreeing to die to uphold our Constitution, least of all the people we may or may not have elected to Congress. A democratic republic is impossible to KEEP any other way.

Most of the people who are sticking their necks out have families too. The excuse of having to look after the kids does not wash. The founders had families. The troops in the revolution had families. All the men and women who have died for us had families. It’s part of the deal. Freedom is not free. They’ve made it so peace is not free either.

It looks like they want you to sign in or join when using the link I posted. (Due to graphic content)

I had originally found it on their “Most Viewed Today” list. The version there has now been replaced with a shorter version which doesn’t show the items I was commenting on.

I guess you’ll have to join to see it – it’s free, but you have to fill out a form (I have yet to do it myself – it bums me out how far down I have to scroll for my birth year!)

There was lots of debris on the ground outside the building. Within that debris were perfectly formed parallel piles of debris running out from the base of each building column. It looked as though a blast from within the building had blown away debris that was between the columns, but not where the column sheilded it from the blast. There was no window glass visible at the ground floor level.

(I just signed up – only took a minute and they didn’t even ask what color my toilet is. – The link in #15 above still works, but I had to try it several times – it kept asking me to confirm that I wanted the content. On the third try it finally worked. Good Luck)

“the radical left has taken over the Dem party”

“Soros and moveon.org are controlling the Dem party”

What you don’t hear, is “democracy in action: the citizens of Connecticut voted for Lamont over Lieberman”. You would think it’s SINFUL, according to the MSM, if Lamont wins. A Lamont win sends a huge message to ALL politicians: get out of Iraq! The RNM/MSM smearing of Lamont has begun…

    #40 Agent99,
Thanks for clarifying. Why would you exclude Conyers? He’s done so much, it seems to me.
(I’m thinking I may have misunderstood you, though:
do you mean you’d exclude them–Conyers-Kennedy-etcetera–from condemnation? Or you’d exclude them from the common ground idea?)

I still have alot of hope in Gore, although I so fear that the fact he’s been a politician for so long may have twisted his judgment in ways we don’t know. I hope not, but it seems so inevitable.
His speeches since just before the ’04 “election” & up to now have been very passionate & powerful. I want him to run in ’08. If he chooses not to I will have alot of trouble understanding why.

Kennedy may have raised his voice on certain issues, as you say…others have, too…but their efforts all seem just too little too late, a pale ghost of outrage in the face of the world being devoured by greed & atrocity.
Hillary, for example, talking about violence in video games, rather than screaming in outrage over our government turning the country into a globally reviled monster, just set my blood boiling!

I think you hit the nail on the head as far as FEAR being a major reason for others’ lukewarm responses or total silence on the critical state of the country. (Brad has said this too, I think)
The way you put it, the fear of “getting Wellstoned”: I’m afraid that may be very apt.
If the families, the children of politicians & journalists & editors are being threatened, I can understand keeping one’s mouth shut to protect them.
Maybe you’re right that extraordinary courage is required if we are to win the country back. But I’m not sure how courageous I would be if my family were threatened. I just don’t know.

    Agent99 said on 8/8/2006 @ 11:02pm PT: [Permalink]

Joan, I most certainly meant to say that John Conyers is way at the top of my list of keepers. I have been stumping for Al Gore not to have to run again, for him to just be the party’s nominee for 2008, but I would like Edwards too. I would like Bobby Kennedy too. I want honest, true, intelligent, strong, balanced and DETERMINED AGAINST EVIL presidents. I want a president that places the environment and the workers and the poor above the bank accounts of the wealthy. I’d want John Conyers if I thought he could stand that kind of pressure for that long.

When you listen to the Tarpley thing, it’ll probably be pretty plain what really is the bottom line. I would sooner die than have a hair on the head of a loved one be harmed, but so would almost anyone who ever put their lives on the line for us, for their country. Thousands upon thousands of Americans have given their lives for you and me, Joan. Are we just mouthing the words when we say we are grateful? Or does it mean, ultimately, that we recognize they did what we would do? Were we born free to be turned into huddled masses?

  38. 75)
    Agent99 said on 8/8/2006 @ 11:46pm PT: [Permalink]

Yep, Mick, David Ray Griffin is a theologian and a scholar. Not many can speak more eloquently or authoritatively on the subject. Webster Tarpley knows his stuff too. So does Steven Jones. Anyone who pays attention to those guys, and STILL misses the point, the truth, is pretty much hopeless. We need all the HOPE we can get. Hooray for the Presbyterians!

  39. 76)
Dredd said on 8/9/2006 @ 1:24am PT: [Permalink]

Anyone who has watched elections since ’00 and ’04 never has much confidence in results because of last minute strangeness.

    #73 Agent99,
Ok, glad you’d keep the good guys. I agree with your comment on all points, & your questions at the end are mine also. I hope I would be capable of courage in the face of threats, but I’ve just never been in that position. I could say “Yeah, I’d blow the whistle on them & not rest till their asses were in jail!”, but talk is cheap. If somebody whispered in my ear “We’ve got your kid. Stop what you’re doing or she’s dead”? I dunno, man. I can’t say truthfully WHAT I would be capable of.

Wow, those must be the fonts that were installed in Bruce Funk’s Diebold machines.

I never stop wondering what John Lennon’s thoughts would be about the crap coming down today. Can you IMAGINE!

John could be an abrasive person, but he always told the truth.

I have bought McCartney’s albums through the years and think he’s great. If you haven’t seen the DVD “Paul McCartney in Red Square”, BUY IT! It includes interviews with Russians who used to pay half a months salary to obtain one Beatles record. Rock and Roll brought down the old Soviet order more then Ronald Reagan did. The Beatles and others exported freedom and they couldn’t get enough.

This is a film the Bush regime doesn’t want you to see. SO GO SEE IT! It will fill you with hope and love for the Russian people. Anybody who thought they were over there plotting our demise in the cold war will be awakened.

The concert is from 2003 and I’m positive you couldn’t get a permit to have anywhere near this big an event in the United States, (SAD ISN’T IT!). Notice that everybody in the crowd, including the smallest children know the lyics to all the songs in English. Fantastic stuff!

Those private individuals who look into alternate

Unless there was something that was deemed – Must Remain Hidden/Concealed – at all costs. If the truth was told and nothing was hidden there is no valid reason to threaten anyone.

Dig harder,.. dig deeper,.. only then will we learn how/why these neo-con fascists subverted our democracy and then bring crimminal charges against them for having done so.
