“Donetta Davidson, a member of the Election Assistance Commission, said only a few dozen of about 6,700 election jurisdictions in the United States reported voting problems on Election Day. She said local governments undertake exhaustive testing on their computer equipment before and after elections. “Our voters should feel very confident,” she said.” [See Below – PA: Doubts persist on electronic vote machines] It’s apparent that Ms. Davidson has ignored the results of this past election. It’s time she opened her eyes and saw what is happening around her. …

On your first link, John I almost put my fist through the moniter when I read about what this piece of crap had to say, it was in my morning paper too
“Committee member Brit Williams, a computer scientist who has conducted certification evaluations of Georgia’s paperless electronic voting system, opposed the measure. “You are talking about basically a reinstallation of the entire voting system hardware,” he said.”

      What a corporate hack

“Lawyers for District 13 Democratic candidate Christine Jennings and voting groups have filed lawsuits seeking an independent review of the source code, which is kept secret on behalf of the manufacturer to guard against hacking and piracy.”

Oh, really? That’s their story now? What happened tp the excuse of “Those are our proprietary trade secrets whose revelation would undermine our market value?”

And of course they would have never, ever have heard of this thing called Open Source software that, on a daily basis, handles security challenges that would cause an e-voting machine to melt down into slag…
