Melinda Henneberger interviews Christine Jennings, who would have won her race for the U.S. House in Florida’s 13th district were it not for the ES&S touch-screen voting machines in Sarasota County, which robbed her (so far) of her rightful seat.
We guess candidates have to actually get screwed by these machines themselves before they are capable of fully appreciating the dangers about which we write here virtually every day. At the end of Henneberger’s piece, she quotes Jennings in reference to some of the oft-ignored Election Integrity Advocates (like yours truly) who have long been trying to raise the reddest of flags. In this case, Jennings refers to the good folks of the Sarasota Alliance for Fair Elections (SAFE) with an “I’d wish I’d listened to them” sub-text impossible to ignore…
So what will it take for the rest of the Democratic Party to start getting it?

Do you get that? The patronizing? The dismissiveness? The “we know what we’re doing and you’re just ‘bloggers’ or ‘conspiracy theorists’ but we won’t offend you because we want your votes.” attitude.

She summarized the entire attitude of the organized Democratic Party Leadership (DNC, DCCC, etc.) towards election reform and the online community.
So, I guess Jennings has “seen the light” so we have to forgive her.
Who is next? Nancy treated her the same way she treated us by swearing in her illegal opponent, notwithstanding “provisional” which will probably turn out to be illegal.

Now, if you EVER get to claim your rightful seat in Congress, will you do me a favor please? Will you go talk to the Representatives and Senators from Tennessee, and explain to them exactly why THEY should be listening too? I know some of them hear us, but I don’t think they really comprehend the seriousness of the situation.
I know there are Congress members from other states who need to know too, maybe you could join with the few who ARE listening to work your way through the crowd of non-believers for us.
