Making light of 911?
Many a Democrat feels their party has forgotten that 911 occurred.
Seems you like to make fun of it.

You're mistaken. It's the democrats who are acknowledging 9/11 and trying to take action to prevent future acts of terrorism by voting Kerry.
You know who is actually making fun of of 9/11? Bush & his posse when they claim that Sadam Hussein had something to do with 9/11. That's making light of 9/11.
You know what else is making light of 9/11? Killing other innocent people (just like the ones killed in the WTC). Tit for tat. That's making light of 9/11.
You know what else is making light of 9/11? Using 9/11 as part of your election campaign. Using 9/11 as an excuse to invade a country for oil...
Shall I go on? I think you get the point.

You are certainly not foolish enough to believe Al-queda will stop plotting acts of terrorism the minute JFK jr is elected are you?? Regardless of who is in office to them we are all infidels who must die. They attacked us under Clinton, Bush and if Kerry is elected nothing will change to them.
Why is it if Dems use 9/11 it comes off as "we will never forget" yet if Bush uses it he is some how making light of it?? You can't have it both ways yet you keep trying.

They attacked you because some people did nothing to stop it. Stopping terrorism from occuring on your home land is acceptable. Going out and killing people because they "might be terrorists" is wrong and you know it.
I'm not trying to have it any way. I'm trying to show you the humanitarian side of this whole blood bath yet you do nothing to acknowledge it.
Unless Bush were to actually shoot your own family members or that cute grand-daughter of yours, I doubt you'll ever actually open your eyes. Even if he were to do that, you'd find an excuse to forgive him. Because he basically is. He's killing your future. And your future is your grand-daughter. Yet again. You don't see it.

They attacked us because they are evil cowards who have no regard for human life. Could it have been stopped?? It probably should have. But put the blame where it belongs. If you want to talk humanitarian talk to al-queda. They brought this on. Would Bush still have attacked Iraq without 9/11? Probably, and it still would have been ok with me. For that matter considering terrorists get into this country through Canada where is your outrage at the Canadian government for their poor security??
If Kerry gets elected (which he won't) and we are not attacked he will then take credit for it. I certainly don't want that to happen.
Lets not play to my emotions regarding my family. Nobody from any administration is going to shoot my family. Get real, Bush is no Nazi contrary to the beliefs of the goofballs on this blog.

"They attacked us because they are evil cowards who have no regard for human life."
And thus, he demonstrates why Bush was correct yesterday when he said "we can't win" the War on Tara. Bush can't win it. That's for sure. Since he, like Ed, seem to have no clue about who attacked us, or why.
You can't defeat your enemy unless you understand them. Neither Bush, nor Ed, seem to have a clue.
Don't know if Kerry does or not. But willing to give him a try, since clearly the other guy (Bush and his supporters) will never get it.

Ah, there it is. I was waiting for the spite vote.

You're one to talk. Everybody on this thing is voting for Kerry or Nader because he is not GWBush.

Right, Ed. Because we don't like George W. Bush's failed and dangerous policies and think our country deserves better.
You, on the other hand, are voting for George W. Bush not because any of his policies have been successful in any way, but because you can't stand to see Bush lose. So you're willing to hose yourself to accomplish it. No matter what it will mean to your bank account or the lives and bank accounts of your children and grand children.

I guess I am one to talk Ed, because my decision has nothing to do with spite. I think Bush has legitimately misled the country, and has used what media outlets are available to the people's detriment. I have always opposed motivation through fear and aggression, or by classifying then pitting groups of people (Americans or otherwise) against one another.
His administration has done so, and will continue as this fight grows nastier and nastier before November 2nd. Bush may not even be aware that his community has done so (though how could he not?), and that makes him all the less fit for office.
Add to that, he never sought additional experiences in his life prior to being in office. He never visited countries outside the US. He never chose, with his great means, to learn of other cultures or better himself in any way. I don't want someone in office with that kind of learning curve to overcome.
It's not spite to look towards our best interests. I'm sure you're doing the same, just without all the facts. Reason tells me that this country, with or without the repercussions of 9/11, is much worse off (in just four years) than I could have ever feared. I don't trust this man to have the knowledge or subtlety to understand the tremendous social issues that face this country today, and that is why I can't possibly vote for him.
I would consider myself an intellectually honest Liberal, and have said on more than one occasion that if the Republicans considered a different candidate (and on some level ideology), I might even vote Conservative. Not voting for Bush has nothing to do with spite.

First and foremost I would like to call any women (preferable blonde) who may be roaming around this site to give a Canadian girl a lending hand. Anyone? Anyone?
Okay. Now onto Ed's reply.
Ed. Don't call me dear. Since you don't know me, you're not using it in an endearing way. This leads me to believe you are using it in a belittling manner which I find insulting, so I am asking you nicely to stop that.
"They attacked us because they are evil cowards who have no regard for human life."
Why do I sound like a broken record on this site? I think it's because *you* are doing loops! ONCE AGAIN!!!! Here's my typical rebuttal to your typical nonsense: ED - BUDDY, by allowing the killing to continue in Iraq you are just like them! No regard for human life!! Because Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Remember?
" If you want to talk humanitarian talk to al-queda."
I would, if only Bush had actually done something about catching them and not wasted his time with mister what his face......
"They brought this on."
They brought what on? They brought the war in Iraq on? Are you kidding me? HALLO?! Anyone home??!!!
"For that matter considering terrorists get into this country through Canada where is your outrage at the Canadian government for their poor security??"
Hah! Omigod. I swear, you guys never cease to make me laugh with your ludicrousness! Um, Ed? Let me try this one nice and slow.
If we let them into our country, that's one thing. And it's our problem. But eventually, they have to cross the border from Canada to the States. You with me? That means...... they have to clear US customs.....still with me? That means....US security has a say in who enters the country. You get me?!
There's no underground passage way from Canada to the US. Sorry to burst your bubble there.
"Lets not play to my emotions regarding my family."
Why not? You don't seem to care about anyone else. You don't seem to see anything beyond your own nose. Maybe if I use real examples that you can actually relate to, you'll see that other ppl are human too. When you say "no regard for human life", you don't truly mean that. You just mean, "no regard for the human life I approve of."
"Get real, Bush is no Nazi contrary to the beliefs of the goofballs on this blog. "
HAH! Again. With the humour...*sigh* What am I gonna do with you? Huh?
I really do think Brad said it best. The American people (and the rest of the world) deserve better than Bush. It's really sad that you don't think you can do better.

i love the bullshit from the right. Terrorism is the result of hatred of infidels. Pure and simple. It has nothing at all to do with history nothing at all to do with R-E-A-L-I-T-Y.

We knew at the time that the best evidence concluded a lack of WMD. What could the war have possibly been for when that was their claim? A nice Sunday brunch on the Tigris? We are dealing with the Ltin of bagdad here.
