I didn't get to watch much of the hearings online, had to catch the rerun on CSPAN 2 this afternoon.
My kid gave me SUCH grief for yelling at the tv when Gonzales said that. He was on the phone, and I heard him explain to his friend that his mother was just mad at the government again.
I apologized. I couldn't help it.

Your kid should feel lucky that you still have a tv and didn't take a baseball bat to it (as I was tempted to do to mine today).
Watching the insanity in this administration is enough to make us all crazy!!!!!

John Dean has written an article about the hearings:
Notwithstanding the lack of support Gonzales has in the Congress, and the damage he is causing the Bush Administration, he is not going to resign, and Bush is not going to fire him. Rather, Bush is going to, in effect, create a new, and far lower, standard for acceptable conduct by attorneys general. Bush is openly embracing the "Peter Principle" - the management theory that says that, as people within an organization advance to their highest level of competence, they will then be further promoted to, and remain at, a level at which they are incompetent. This has clearly occurred with Alberto Gonzales.
(John Dean). The people are going to place responsibilty for this on republicans, and hold them accountable in the '08 election.

Here's an illuminating clip from C-SPAN taken after the hearings yesterday...
Basically, Shumer says that the "arrow points to the White House."

The way Gonzales explains the DOJ it reminds me of the mystery ghost ship they just found sailing itself.

If you want the best coverage of "Gonzales's day at the roast" you've got to get an account with Novamradio.com and download the Mike Malloy show from 04-19-2007.
It's only $100.00 dollars a year or $9.95 a month.
All this nonsense about the giant media corporations having to get millions to stay on top of the news is dashed by the ability of Mike and his wife to put together a great recap of important news every day. Mike is an admitted Democrat, but I've heard him railing against them more strongly then Hannity ever did, as he should!
Get the truth and REAL passion for pennies a month!
