When people try to make elections issues into a partisan issue we always tell them it’s not partisan; it’s about democracy. Actually it is very hard not to be partisan because we all are one way or another. It’s also not easy to be non-issue oriented. Some have said that because we feel a particular way about certain legislation that “Daily Voting News” will be used as our ‘bully-pulpit’ to spread the word only about our view point while stifling the other side.
Well, we are not Fox News Network. There’s a disclaimer at the bottom of every DVN that says that our view may not always match the views given in the articles we link to. That’s because we post articles from all over and we don’t take sides when we post. In fact, about the only things that I have consciously left out of DVN are articles that attack people or organizations that are in the Election Integrity community. If there are few articles posted that meet your particular view point it’s because none were written or I could not find them in my normal search places. Write an article/blog and get it posted somewhere and let me know. I’ll post it….

As you know, some issues come down across party lines. Immigration, electronic voting machines, and the “war on terror” are some examples.
Activist groups are divided on the Holt bill, republicans are divided against republicans on immigration, as are dems, and the “war on terror” is a substantial fraud to many activists. Even the official story about 9/11 is a hot button topic with sincere activists on all sides of that issue.
Greg Palast has been assailed on this blog and Daily Kos for asserting that Rove heads up a mission concerning “vote caging” and “voter fraud” in the US Attorney scandal.
I posted a scathing rant (it mentions you) about a deeper aspect of the US Attorney scandal that is not out yet. Desperados facing long prison sentences are being used to finger mental weakos whom they lead into terrorism talk. Later, indictments come out at very suspicious times to counter the news about scandals that plague the
WhiteWhat House at various times.The pizza boys are going to attack Fort Dix and some lunies without explosives are going to blow up more people than happened on 9/11 with kerosene in a pipeline? Silly.
But some people are dragged into the vortex with fear tactics, both in the voting movements, immigration movements, and “war on terror” movements.
Just gotta keep shining the light and being willing to follow the evidence where it leads.

My community has optical scan voting machines, far superior to DREs, but not without flaws and chances to steal elections as “Hacking Democracy” proved. Would it be possible for you and this blog please give your readers ways that they can find out how accurate and reliable (pre/post election) our own community voting has been? I understand that this could be a very long process, so a series of stories of how-to actions to check that democracy still exists in our own communities. If all of us could go to our local election officials and demonstrate to them that common citizens were watching them and going to check up on them, I think our election processes would be more transparent. Since few are checking, election officials may feel they can do as they wish.
