The Holt bill will almost certainly have enough loopholes to allow the Republicans to continue stealing elections. They are just wasting our time. Holt needs to be tabled, and our energies must be focused at the local levels, cities and counties.
Saving Liberty is work. Many died for it. If we can't get a majority to be willing to give up one evening to count votes, all those deaths, all the way up to today's, will have been in vain.

the Republicans politicians to continue stealing elections.
The Democrats, in my opinion, can no longer be considered innocent bystanders, after three Presidential candidates all signed on to endorse Sen. Feinstein's S.1487, a.k.a. Jim Crow for the New Century. I've reached the conclusion that thinking about this particular issue in terms of party lines is a distraction at best.
John Gideon's H.R.811 update illustrates that point also. We have to be vigilant.
I find this whole bit about a "manager's amendment" very curious. I will not be surprised if we find the language that "captures the spirit" of the deleted text will, in fact, be the language used in Sen. Feinstein's bill, which says only that paper ballots are to be on-hand, for use in the case of emergency. (The Holt Bill had said that they needed to be available at all times as an alternative for those who do not fancy the machines.)

Someday I want somebody to explain the proceure to me. It must certainly have some parliamentary basis or Roberts Rules of Order logic to it, but I will be damned if I see it.

Bob "HAVA" Ney is not a republican. I saw it on faux snooze where they had a picture of him, and under it was "D-Ohio".
Start spreading the snooze.
Since the election movement is divided over HR 811, but everyone agrees that the status quo benefits comedians, why not laugh it off and get unified?
After all we all agree that Jack Abramoff (D-DC I saw it on faux snooze) would not have liked it like it is?
As a last resort, to benefit the movement, I suggest that we get "all the news we need on the weather report", per Paul Simon. Then lets all go look for America.

If you are tired of having the Republicans "stealing" elections, something needs to change. The easiest solution: youth voting. The initiaitve for youth voting can help not only inform more adolescents but also help restore the Oval office to the Democrats. Check out the hilarious video shorts on DeclareYourself.com. They might be effective.
