Hey girls and boys... that's the RIGHT SIDE OF THE FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey nobody died though right? That is pretty scary.
I'm exploding because the cops are telling us they were told to stand down on Obama's security from on high... on Federal kind of high... which means someone powerful is trying to let someone homicidal at Barack Obama. I can't believe you would be confused about that! Then, if that were not bad enough, just check how much coverage it's NOT getting.
THIS IS NOT AMERICA! WHERE DO WE GET OFF LOOKING DOWN OUR NOSES AT PAKISTAN'S POLITICAL ASSASSINATIONS!?! THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FIGHT ALL STANDS UP AND DEMANDS THAT THIS BE INVESTIGATED AND PROSECUTED IMMEDIATELY, AND THERE'S FUCKING BARELY EVEN A WORD IN THE PRESS.
This is, in fact, one of the most horrifying bits of news we have ever witnessed. My head will explode!

It's time to fire o'reilly.
I am thoroughly utterly totally completely abso-fucking-lutely appalled. And yet.. BUT --- Sorry to say it but I've seen this shit coming since the very day Obama announced he was running. Man I hate to be so negative but ever since JKF (et al. et al. et al.) and the BOLD BLATANT FACT THAT WAS AN INSIDE JOB I have never so much as trusted this government one f-ing spitting iota. And with the HARD FACTUAL evidence out there on whatever anybody (whoever) you choose to investigate from JKF, to MLK to 9/11 and a whole lotta lotta crap you don't even have a clue about --- ANYONE that does even remotely trust this government is a complete idiot. It kills me to say this --- truly just cuts me to the core --- but once again - Obama being the truest hope of many many years he will most likely never make the first year in office. The power elite that control the strings of this world will never allow it.. GOD PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG - there's nothing in the world I would like more than to have to eat those words. But Marc my words.. our POS "government will assassinate him too!

This on the eve of the anniversary of the assassination of Malcolm X, in the city where JFK was assassinated.
I swear I can hardly keep from barfing. I'm taking this not just personally, but physically personally.

. . . government thugs must be punished just like everyone else.
This is as serious as a heart attack.
At some point in time the long planned military coup, a two-phased operation, the first of which took place behind the scenes years ago, will ease it into the public view. We will be told to our face.
Obama is a setback in the plan. He represents the area furthest from the military industrial complex fascist mentality and closest to "power to the people" democratic ideals.
If the coup movers and shakers are set in their plans they may take him out like Pakistan did Bhutto.
Let down the security, give psycho maniacs rides to the show, put weapons in their hands, kill Obama, then say the loonies did it. Waterboard the loonies until they "admit" it.
That is the worse case scenario.
But make no mistake. This present regime would do it if they got the nod from the power people.
It is all a matter of their schedule to turn America into Amurka.
How close are we to midnight?
American flag waived, Amurkan flag waved ...
The first phase of the coup involves capturing the mind. This is pure hardcore military doctrine:
Capture their minds and their hearts will follow ...
Psychological Operations (PSYOP) or Psychological Warfare (PSYWAR) is simply learning everything about your target enemy, their beliefs, likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities. Once you know what motivates your target, you are ready to begin psychological operations.
And one of the striking features of the modern period is the institutionalization of that process, so that we now have huge industries deceiving the public—and they're very conscious about it, the public relations industry. Interestingly, this developed in the freest countries—in Britain and the US—roughly around time of WWI, when it was recognized that enough freedom had been won that people could no longer be controlled by force. So modes of deception and manipulation had to be developed in order to keep them under control.

Let me offer the only positive I see in this- the local police were appalled and in one story I read, angry, at being told to stand down.
That's different, at least, from JFK where some (Not all, by any means) of the local police seemed to be involved.
You can probably bet that if something had happened, they would have turned around and tried to pin it on the very people who WANTED to do their job.
Does the Secret Service really have the power to override the locals- especially when it comes to protecting people in a local venue? I suppose they do but I wonder if the local police could have appealed that up the ladder really quickly?
What congressional committee would have the power to look into this? Not that I'm expecting a lot, but it's worth a try.
It must hurt bush that he is hated and Obama is loved. Karma
The Southern Poverty Law Center watches the boiling level of hatred, and they are alarmed at the degree hatred is rising up to:
“OBAMA WILL DIE, KKK FOREVER,” concludes a Feb. 15 post by “Rodney” to a blog run by a person identified only as Strider333. Above that signoff, Rodney wrote: “The KKK or someone WILL assassinate Obama! If we get a NIGGER President all you NIGGER’s [sic] will think you’ve won and that the WHITE people will have to bow to you[.] FUCK THAT.”
(Southern Poverty Law Center). I doubt that the Secret Service is totally unaware of this, and thus to take out the weapon detectors in the place of craziods where Kennedy was killed ("Obama is like JFK") is untenable.

The critical question here is... what is everybody going to DO about this?
Don't tell me what you have to say about this. It should be quite obvious by now nobody cares what we say about anything.
What action is going to be taken?
There is no "the" question here, and I can't agree that nobody cares what we say.
This story is number one on UPI today.
We are the Straight
Talk Blog Express, resistance is futile.
McCain is not helping Rush Limbaugh stop a 50-state landslide, so perhaps the SS is?
McCain's campaign co-chair has just been indicted by the feds, so it must be real bad huh?
And he is surrounding himself with telecom lobbyists and wants retroactive immunity for his lobbyist's clients who spied on Americans for preznit blush.
He is accused of having been doing this for years as a senate committee chairman.
And he wants another 100 years of war. And who can say no to that?

Because what you guys said about Bush and his cronies stealing the election from Gore in Florida stopped them from stealing any elections in 2004, right?
Well... because what you guys blogged about Bush and his cronies stealing the election from Kerry in Ohio in 2004 made sure the election system is now clean for the 2008 election
(Cue New Hampshire Primary and "no Black votes for Obama in Harlem precincts" video here)
Please Dredd... tell us... tell us what part of this "all talk/blog, no direct action" plan of has shown any improvements on anything since Nov. 2000?
Effective social movements require direct action and a willingness to take risks. That means people getting out from behind their computers and being willing to make some sacrifices. Read Gandhi. Read MLK. Learn from them.
If blogging isn't just a small part of an greater overall strategy driven by direct action, it's pretend activism.
A.F. Smith #21
I understand, but you argue for the false frame that talking or blogging is nothing without doing. This false frame is false for many reasons.
You are talking aren't you? So what else are you doing to convince me of your argument? See, you don't need to do anything else. You are convincing or not by your words, what you say.
Thus you are taking a false frame and making a hypocritical argument out of it.
And it sounds like the republican talking points about Obama. If Obama's words are so empty, as the talking points urge, why are they scaring Rush into fearing a 50 state landslide?
Talk is not cheap, because "a man of his word" is a term of art for an honest man.
Our word is our bond. Here are some words that show how few of them can say so much:

I provide to you the example from history of what Gandhi, MLK and others accomplished with non-violent direct action.
Direct non-violent action has over a century of proven success around the world.
Dredd, did you notice I already asked you to show me the successes that have been achieved from this strategy of "all blog/talk, no direct action" you promote? Why is Dredd not listing all the success of this "all talk/blog, no direct action" tactic? Perhaps because any successes are very few, very small in impact, and very far between in timeframe.
I provided to you the suggestion that you would be best served to go educate yourself in the works of Gandhi and MLK. Read what they said. Learn from THEM.
Instead, Dredd provides intentionally argumentative distractions.
The United States is no longer governed by the rule of law. That has unfortunately made words almost valueless. It was Bush, Cheney, Rove, and Rumsfeld that took us all there. It wasn't my choice. That's where we are though.
The neo-cons aren't listening to anything you have to say. They're too busy stealing trillions to take the time to go read your blog.
A.F. Smith #23
I do understand your argument that "actions speak louder than words". Which is true in its context.
Everything needs a context, and our discussion is in the context of this thread, which exposes the danger done to Obama.
The federal Secret Service officer spoke the words "remove the weapons detection stations" and it was done. He did nothing in the nature of action, he just spoke words.
Fortunately his words did not lead to the death of Obama who uses words for better purposes.
So I guess we can say that there is a time when words alone will work, and a time when words must be accompanied by actions.
It depends on the context.
BFD. All the candidates should be screaming bloody murder --- no figure of speech --- and every network and news wire and newspaper and magazine and citizens group and church...
FUCK! This is not America. My head has exploded!
The Belfast Telegraph picked it up... whoopdeedoo.

Re: Obama Security WTF !!! is the understatement of the century.
Don't self destruct. It was the number one story on the UPI.
The Department of Homeland Security was established with the passage of (Public Law 107-296) which in part, transfered the United States Secret Service from the Department of the Treasury, to the new department effective March 1, 2003.
They are now denying the testimony of three or so Dallas policemen who said the Secret Service ordered them to take down weapon detection stations.
Under the bushies if the Secret Service denies it means they did it IMO.
Did you see it on AP, Reuters, McClatchy, on tv anywhere? Did you hear it on the radio? Have any of the fuckers running against him mentioned it?
A newspaper in Belfast, Ireland picked it up today. That's as much progress as has been made.
I'd thought UPI was dead before I saw it with this story. Evidently EVERYBODY in media STILL thinks it after this story.
I picked up on a racial aspect of Secret Service and White House operations while following the name of Eric Zahren (the SS's Snow Job):
A Secret Service spokesperson had this explanation:
Until a year ago, the Secret Service did require race as part of its standard background check for guests at events involving the president. Following complaints, including one from the White House press corps, the practice ended. But the Secret Service requested racial information for Friday's luncheon, a spokesman for the agency, Eric Zahren, said.
(Observer, emphasis added). So what races do they filter out and in?
Perhaps race has something to do with how long the weapons detectors stay up too ... I mean since it has relevance to who is invited to dinner?

Brietbart has some interesting comments:
For many black Americans, it's a conversation they find hard to avoid, revisiting old fears in the light of bright new hopes.
They watch with wonder as Barack Obama moves ever closer to becoming America's first black president. And they ask themselves, their family, their friends: Is he at risk? Will he be safe?
American flag waived, Amurkan flag waved ...
Editor and Publisher ("America's Oldest Journal Covering the Newspaper Industry") carried the story.
Keep hoping 99 ...

Secret Service is under Homeland Security. The Protective Operations Division is responsible for presidential (family) and canidate protection. This is under the direct control of the president ...Mein Bush. Only through executive order can you be protected.
Benzir Bhutto was shot in a public venue where security had been lowered as well.
Since when do empty seats and long lines supersede the imperative of safety at all costs? The story appears to be getting murky and I would suggest the pressure on the poor officers reporting the truth will be unbearable. This is literally an outrage that defies explanation. The SS is now telegraphing to psychos what their modis operandi is. Bring Guns Late.
Hopefully Olberman/Stewart and the likes will get on this story. This story will be buried so fast our heads will spin. Directed lapse in security seems to have no other purpose than an intention to endanger Obama. Kinda like exposing a CIA agents vital WMD covert operation to discredit a war critic. Yeah Right!!!
This might be a stupid analogy, but this story reminds me of how Lee Harvey Oswald was murdered. He either was one of the best pathological liars of all time or should have co-starred in a movie with Brando.
No Lawyer. No Protection. Forced to give a press conference in a police station. You have the #1 suspect in the killing of Kennedy. Common sense says you protect that guy no matter what. The actions that enabled Ruby to kill Oswald couldn't have seemed more deliberate. Not protecting Obama has the same kind of stench to it.
oops, above I awkwardly was trying to say that Oswald's denial seemed honest. That he was either telling the truth or could have been in movies. Sorry for any confusion.
