Thanks, Brian! Just checked your version and it looks like you accidentally cut off the final couple of titles. I don't mind you putting it up over there (happy about it, in fact!) but please be sure to use the complete file if you don't mind!
Lots of good stuff over at your site! Keep up the good work!

Swaggert does not speak for Bush or for all Christians or for the right or for conservatives. Swaggert has lost all credibility many years ago (I never cared for him anyway).
So, I am not sure what you are referring too when talking about Take America Back. Taking America back from what?

I am not one of those "end times" nuts. There will be an Armegeddon, but that could be 100s if not 1000s of years from now. No one knows!

jaime,
the illiteracy of fundies on the issue of armageddon is simply amazing. They fail to read the text critically and understand its actual meaning. The long standing interpretation of the "end of the world" from the time before the first kingdom, was the emergence of what was later referred to as a new jerusalem. An era in human history in which swords are beaten into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks (Isaiah and Micah). Fundies equate this with "heaven" but that is a false belief. The ideas expressed throughout Scripture is of an earthly city in which those with power turn their attention away from the conquest of resources and direct society toward the protection and uplifting of the weakest among us (the widow, the poor, the orphan, the stranger). jeremiah 22 speaks directly to this issue: ""Does it make you a king
to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?" declares the LORD. But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion" (vv 15-17). These same questions could be asked of those in power today.
Think of the biblical notion of the "world" which is to say civilization. It was founded by a murderer and the history of humanity is the heritage of this primal murder. It is no wonder that the literary tropes of attempts to undermine that history is always pinned on the younger brother concieved outside the metaphor for the passing on of sin (painful birth). Issac, Jacob and Joseph were invesre versions of Cain. In fact their prototype is Abel. Each of them was born of a "barren mother" in order to give a literary answer to the birth in pain (Eve's "punishment") and so forth. The idea of the end of the world is the creation of a civilization based on the principles outlined in Jeremiah.
This has had a strong history in Christianity. For example the Diggers, and so forth.

I always thought the Fundie concept of Armageddon was similar to the old Viking idea of Ragnarok.

I liked Armageddon. Do you think a nuke can really split an asteroid the size of Texas in two?
