It appears that West Virginia either had very, very few machine failures yesterday or they were very, very successful at keeping the failures out of the news.
It appears that our friends north of the border want the same instant gratification that our media insist on. New Brunswick has changed to optical-scan machines so they can get quicker results, amongst other reasons….

Oh John, you are too cute sometimes:
I think machine “failures” are like voter fraud. Fender benders.
I think mature, respectible, and world changing hackers would rather do it without anything going “wrong”, so nobody knew (only somebody knew), and thus so a “perfect election” results.
You know John, like the election evangelicals and priests preach and teach us to have faith. “This is America they sing, the land of ever perfect election bliss, model for the world. Even if we must invade and make their thumbs purple”.
Alrighty then, I guess I will just look somewhere else for a solution, since our elections are perfect, then millions dying, wars raging, poverty and starvation raging, recession and high oil prices ragin cajun Katrina, I guess I’ll apply for a job at Diebold. 😉 … yeah, like they would hire me after our little chat.
OH NO!! F#%K!! I thought I’d take a break from letter writing.
They will know about Brad and the bradblog by the time I am done 🙂
NB, the second most beautiful Province in Canada…after BC. IMO
Thanks for the info John
Ok, Phewww, I feel calmer now. New Brunswick is using optical scanners in their Municipal elections. Ontario uses them also. Don’t like that fact but “so far” they will not be allowed in the Federal Elections.
No level of interfering with elections could be compared to a fender bender.
Me Thinks They Doth Protest Too Much
People calling for electronic machine receipts as the solution for our election woes cannot be trusted, imho. The attacks against Brad Friedman, Bev Harris, and others were not spontaneous developments. Those were scripted attempts to discredit the few charasmatic advocates of marked paper ballots.
It’s pretty obvious what happened. It is the 800 pound gorilla. Some dots that can be connected are Mark {OnTheOtherHand} Lindeman, David “Kelvin Mace” Allen, Elisabeth “Febble” Liddell, Hertzberg and ESI, David Dill and the Verified Voting Foundation, AnonymousArmy, and many more.
I am not singling any of them out as criminals. Au contraire. I am simply saying that they are in the way of authentic election integrity.
Lindeman openly mocks those of you who propose a sytem based on the hand-counting of marked paper ballots. He refers to you as annoyances with hobby horses.

I got banned from the Democratic Underground for confronting him. They deleted that post yet hypocritically left up my posts defending Bev Harris against ad hominem attacks. This is because the gatekeepers don’t mind if people go down the rabbit hole that John Dean exposed. They actually continue to promote that. I want those of you at DU to follow up and ask Lindeman how much he makes for those “audits.” Thanks for your time and consideration.
Correction: Lindeman says he never has participated in the audits. My question is how much does he get paid to be on those panels. It’s tough for me to figure out the right questions. I simply do not believe he is working with the advocates described above out of the goodness of his own heart.
