More… [A to D] [E to K] [L to R] [S to Z]
The house banned pentagon propaganda in the press, which is responsible for A-Z, but the press has not reported it.
These men and women gave their blood for oil. The first invasion of the oil wars, a.k.a. WW III, will end unexpectedly.
Until we stop worshipping war and institutional deceit the list will continue to grow until all the blogs in the world can’t contain the names of those who wanted to be heros but ended up being manipulated by the Masters of War.
The propaganda machines disallowed them to live in peace, so I hope they can rest in peace.
Sadly you left out about 70,000 others that have died in Iraq & Afghanistan since 1991, not to mention the 10s of 1000s that are dying right now from Depleted Uranium poisoning.
Then of course there is the minor detail of over 1.2 MILLION innocent Iraqi’s murdered.
and many millions more from Depleted Uranium poisoning for 100s of years to come.
Where’s the proof for this?
Hi Brad,
Thank-you so much for posting all of these names. I will link to it at my site. Let’s all hope and pray that by next Memorial Day, this fiasco is over, and no more names will be added to this list.
I’m sure you know this, but maybe not all of your readers do: In this death count, casualties who die as a direct result of their wounds after they are airlifted out of Iraq are not counted. The ones who die in America as a direct result of their wounds are not counted. And all the troops who die directly as a result of providing support for the combat troops are not counted.
That official death count only incudes those troops who die in Iraq and Afghanistan from combat wounds.
If the House banned Pentagon propaganda in the press as Dredd reports here, why is not this misleading reporting of death counts not included in that ban?
I am not discounting in a stereotypical, debunker fashion what others are posting. But without good sources and proof, such claims do not carry much weight.
Perhaps if folks work together, they can arrive at a close approximation of how many US soldiers have actually died as a result of the Gulf Wars.
{off-topic- making posts today, the letters are loading very slowly one at a time. Not sure what that means, if anything.}
Socrates…tbrnews.org was at one time trying to do this.Don’t know if they still are or not. It was at least 2 years ago. About triple the official count. Thanks Brad for putting this post up. This is the way WE will keep it from ever happening again.
…why don’t we ask the DOD kindly for the .pdf file they have witch contains all casualties for the war on terror, as well as the numbers from the first Iraq
invasionuh…occupation. I’m sure if you ask really nice they will gleefully e-mail it to you. NOT! It’s real simple…they don’t give a shit about those men or their families or the “heathen” Iraqi people or about spreading magic “nuklar” pixie dust. They don’t care. They don’t care about how much gas costs you or how much a little tomato costs at the store. Nobody seems to care about our elections perverted into “selections”.I can make it about a quarter of the way down one of these “official” lists and instantly the queasiness sets in.
p.s. btw… I care. And I will keep caring, and if someone asks me why, I tell them if you have to ask, you don’t understand.
TBR is a discredited website I think owned by Willis Carto. One can’t afford to use such sources. Real issues can be twisted into strawman arguments via right woos left disinformation.
People who cite to tbrnews.org are being played for fools by NAZIS.
You know, if we etched the name of each person who ever died for or because of our country onto a stone you could fit into the palm of your hand, we could bury the White House under a mountain of its dead.
PLEASE NOTICE: TBRNews .org IS a totally BOGUS source of Info!

Um…I assume you mean with the residents inside?
I’m glad Brad did not use the sanitized, nicey-nice language “fallen” which the corporate media constantly use to make death and destruction seem prettier/better than it is. Brad told it like it is: KILLED. And the people on the lists have been killed by the despicable illegitimate Bush regime and their despicable enabling Repugs **AND** Dems. I get so disgusted of partisan people resorting to give the useless and worthless Dems a pass on this stuff (just because these scum have a D behind their name). The Dems have been equally responsible for and complicit with this stuff.
And some damn fools thought that something was going to change for the positive by putting Dems in the majority?! Ha! It’s only gotten worse with every passing day since. I can’t stand these useless people.
And if anyone thinks that ANYTHING is going to change when McCain gets in there (should Bush and Cheney decide to leave in January….I’ll believe that when I see it), then one is living in a wishful-thinking world. Even if we were to have a legitimate presidential election for the first time since 2000, nothing would change with Obama or Clinton in there. They are both bleeding-heart corporatist, pro-war candidates. One is just easier to look at than the other. I can’t stand that trashy lying say-anything woman (Ms Clinton). And the thing she’s married to ain’t any better. Ugh.
So, next Memorial Day will be no different than today, and the one after that and the one after that…
I could wishful-think like some others like to do, but politically speaking wishful-thinking accomplishes nothing in the end. It just leads to a temporary flash-in-the-pan feel-good session followed by disappointment over and over in the end, especially these days, with the corrupt trash this nation has in power.
Socrates #5, I am not discounting in a stereotypical, debunker fashion your implicated request for good sources and proof. If you want to dig through records that are intentionally not being provided to the American people in a wholly transparent way, feel free to do so. Otherwise, I suggest you get on Michael Munk’s e-mail list. He, being the academic that he is, sifts through all this information on roughly a monthly basis and puts it out. I have, in the past, checked his findings and found them to be completely on the up-and-up. As a result, I consider him to be a trusted source now.
There are people I trust, because they have a demonstrated track record of being honest and careful, and people I do not trust, because of a history of repeated lies, such as the Bush/Cheney administration. I trust Michael Munk, but I encourage you to go and do some of that lookee lookee work yourself that I have already done.
In the meantime, I will continue to feel very confident, when I post information I obtain from him, that it is trustworthy … until he may be proved otherwise.

YES!!!
🙂
“Where’s the proof for this?”
Get a grip Soc, these bastards are lying through their teeth about everything, always have been.
74,871 Deaths between 1991- 2007 and that does not include all the deaths of the past year nor all the soldiers dying from Depleted Uranium.
Depleted Uranium deaths will continue for decades.
The 4082 or so number are ONLY those that died immediately on the battle field if they made it to a hospital they were not counted, if they died of Depleted Uranium or anything else they were not counted.

You may believe what ever you wish, but I certainly don’t believe a damn word the Bush administration & its mainstream media minions spew.
The main source isn’t working for me. Can anyone else read that pdf?
This isn’t about getting a grip. It’s called the proof is missing.
…well Soc…we may never know the true numbers. Here are a few reasons why…
Information about the number of US casualties in Iraq is available on a web site of the Pentagon or known as the “War Hub” at http://www.pentagon.gov. This information covers only those who are officially US citizens enlisted with different military services.
Hired security contractors, or mercenaries, and recruits who are not citizens who enlisted to obtain a “green card,” are not counted or mentioned. A large number of the green card recruits are from Mexico and Central America. There are no organizations to look after their rights or help them once they’re in Iraq. Most of them are buried in Iraq when killed.
A videotape produced and distributed by the “Majles Shora Al-Mojahideen in Fallujah,” one of the most important military wings of the Iraqi resistance, showed a burial site discovered outside the Iraqi city of Samara with tens of bodies in US military body bags. The dead were dressed in US uniforms. It is estimated that as many as 40% of the US troops serving in Iraq are green card recruits.
The same goddamn reason the are lying about the number of Iraqis killed is the exact same reason they lie about Americans. They don’t want the war to seem too unpopular, so they fudge the numbers. The point is one is too many when the conflict is based on outrageous lies and sprinkled with treason.
The only grip you need to grab is the fact that war is by nature based on deception (every one ever started was started by a lie) and this one is no different. Let’s see, who’s motto is this?….”By way of deception, thou shalt do war” You can stick that in your google. If you believe even .00001% of the DOD’s Pravda, you are indeed a fool.
Come on.
The numbers are out there if you look past the usual fascist corporate media sources.

“The main source isn’t working for me. Can anyone else read that pdf?”
I find that hard to believe, opens right up for me. Maybe update your Adobe.
That file comes right from the Office of Veterans Affairs.
Fact of the matter is that 10s of 1000s of US troops have died since 1991.
The Government does everything it can to hide this fact and to obfuscate the REAL numbers.
Have no idea why this should come to any surprise to anyone not brain dead, I mean really tell me just ONE number these lying POS don’t fudge?
The Real numbers for the civilian Iraqi deaths is closer to 1.2 Million, not 35,000.
The real numbers for Unemployment is FAR higher than the BS 5%, it is closer to 11-14% for instance.
They lie about everything.
I am unable to make posts now without extreme effort. The last few days a painfully slow crawl has emerged when trying to post here.
As for the links, I find it funny how no progressive websites with credibility have covered this story. If it was true, they’d be all over it.
Brad, any chance you can take a quick look at that pdf and see if there is any truth to this? I honestly am unable to read it.
The only sources I see claiming 80,000 dead US soldiers from the Gulf Wars are from freeper and disinformation links.
I do not doubt that the numbers are being fudged. I do not doubt that depleted uranium has caused illness and death. But what happened to Dan Rather is what is going to happen to this story if people don’t figure out how to differentiate between good sources and those that muddy the waters.
My name is Davis. There are 25 Davises in the list above. Counting the dead with last names the same as yours, really brings it close to home – and breaks your heart as well.
Don’t forget either that the Black water lunatics which almost out number the actual troops are being knocked off every day also.
We are never going to get a full accounting of the actual casualties EVER, these criminals have destroyed everything and re written history.
Nunyabiz,
Since the last time I got an update from Michael Munk, sometime in mid-May, 1,123 private contractors had been killed since the 2003 invasion. The Pentagon does not count them in official US combat casualty tallies released to the US public.
In quiet reflection I built a memorial to the dead, the injured, and the dying. God/Universe be with us, so we may learn the truth, and find our bearings and courage before more are sacrificed to the alter of the perpetuation of the worst in us — who have not payed the ultimate price.
PS God, without verifiable elections sooner and later it will continue.
Oh yeah, the other thing I did on Memorial Day was starting to read Howard Zinn’s A Peoples History Of The United States. I would encourage all American parents to read it to their children. Thanks Howard, your what I call a true patriot!
