Bush said tonight, “Al Qaida no longer has a place to plan.”
Apparently they do, Mr. “President”….From ABC: Al-Qaida Blamed in Egypt Blasts; 30 Dead
And as to this question from a fine, but well-spun St. Louisan:
Kerry gave some answer or another…but here’s what I wish he had said:
“Well, Ann, I wish that was the case. Unfortunately, you may recall the deadly anthrax attacks that have occured since 9/11. Unfortunately, not a single person has been captured in the those attacks, and as you’ve noticed, the President and his Administration don’t much like talking about it for just that reason.”
…Or something like that. And along those lines, I’d point you to this Democratic Underground article of mine from June of this year.

Kerry really had nothing he could say. Like it or not there have been NO major attacks against this country since 9/11. LIke it or not this has been becauwe of the efforts of this administration.
Go BUSH
I’d consider John Mohammed shooting up D.C. with "freedom" piercing bullets a terrorist act.
Notice how Bush doesn’t say "America, and the world is safer"? Fuck the rest of the world, though. They ain’t born a’gin.
Greg, what would your response be if we got hit in the next three weeks? Only Bush could keep us safe?
Greg,
9/11 happened under GWB’s watch. Once is enough for me.
In reality, asswipe bush could’nt protect himself
from a mountain bike, so why should we believe he could protect this country. And you guy,s for bush, I hope you feel that way when he brings back the draft, if he is elected. As for the rest of the world
being safer, that’s a fuckin joke. The only thing bush has done is make my country hated all over the world.
After watching the debate last night, it seemed to me that Senator Kerry keeps getting pranged by President Bush simply because President Bush appears to look at life in black and white terms and it seems as though Senator Kerry keeps holding back and only uttering meaningless one-liner responses.
How easy would it be for Senator Kerry to mention that one of the reasons that we’re in such trouble is that life is not black-and-white and that many of these so called "flip-flops" just can’t be explained in such simplistic terms and that there was just cause for a change of position.
It is my understanding that many of these bills that come before Congress can have completely unrelated items appended to them. So even though the main bill would be supported by a Senator, these other items are far less appealing and that a Senator would have to vote against the entire bill instead of the "line-items."
Have we as Americans become so passive and naive that we can’t handle complexity and that we are more comforatable with a President who doesn’t like complexity either?
Just my $.02
William,
You asked: "How easy would it be for Senator Kerry to mention that one of the reasons that we’re in such trouble is that life is not black-and-white.."
Not to be rude, but didn’t he do that last night? I think the actual issue was about abortion but Bush twice said that Kerry was against some laws & then Kerry did exactly what you suggested. He mentioned that he isn’t against them, that it isn’t black and white & he gave specific examples as to why (he talked about rape victims, when the mother’s life is in danger & incest , I think).
He may not be doing it as obviously as we’d like, but I think he’s doing it nonetheless…
Ps. Did anyone catch Bush calling him Senator Kennedy instead of Kerry? He wasn’t the only one…I think I was watching Fox (yes, I know, I suck) – and i’m pretty sure they called im Senator Kennedy too.
William, your .02 cents are more likely worth half a dollar. That question is exactly the kind we should be asking, and not just because I happen to agree with you. Three more weeks! Three more weeks!
Johanna, I absolutely caught that. At first I thought I misheard, but watching it later confirmed it. Unsurprisingly no one seemed to call that out.
What about Kerry’s slip of the tongue — OGBYN?!
Bryan, *L*. Yup. Heard that one too.
OGBYN? OGstetrician-BYnecologist ?
*sigh* I think he was a little more nervous this second time around…
Terrorist warfare, insurgency, bombers whatever other name we want to call this is all misrepresentations. They are criminals and murders randomly killing men, women and children. They are not a political or religious group. They use God name to do their evil deeds blaspheming anything holy. This type of action is so disgusting that it is shunned by the foulest of society. Seeing baby storm apart in a pool of blood and proudly claiming responsibility can only come about from depraved desperate people. Criminal elements like this among and civilization will corrupt it. Its time we treat these international murders as such.
How do we deal with such a perverted group? How do we stop them from continuing to commit their murderous acts on all religions and people groups? They must have no hiding place. All people no mater what religion and political interest must identify them and eliminate this plague on the human race.
