From Saturday’s Houston Chronicle [emphasis added]…
Officers were called about 10:10 p.m. to the Ridgewood Grocery store in the 4300 block of North Main near Texas 146 after a customer found the store’s owner in a pool of blood behind the counter, said Liberty Police Department spokesman Hugh Bishop.
From surveillance video, investigators learned that the store’s owner, 50-year-old Naushad Virani, was fatally shot in the head during a robbery.
The suspect was identified by police as Stevie R. Walder Jr., 31, who also goes by “Bubba.”
Bishop said Walder, who has a lengthy criminal history in Liberty County, is believed to be a member of a white supremacist group.
Walder is described as 6 feet 2, about 250 pounds, with a shaved head.
He has many tattoos, including a skull on the left side of his neck, a Nazi SS symbol on the right side of his neck and tear drop under his right eye.
He is known to drive a green Chevy truck with Texas plate AB1-7183. He also drives a 1998 dark green Dodge pickup with an extended cab, Texas plate 92L-RW3, and has a Republican Party sticker on the back window.
Anyone with information about this case or Walder’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Liberty Police Department at 936-336-5666.

So more violence by rightwingers who associate themselves with today’s Republican Party, even as the media spends most of their time frightening viewers about Nigerians with explosives in their pants and ill-timed cases of diarrhea.
“Bubba” was apprehended by law enforcement this afternoon, who say they “believe robbery was the motive,” though they add that they are “trying to determine if the shooting was a hate crime”. But here’s how Houston’s Beaumont’s CBS affiliate, KFDM reported the apprehension:

“He told my deputy, ‘I saw you behind me. I loaded my clip. When I saw that all of you were white I decided to give up and not fight.’ He admitted to my deputy that he shot the store owner.”
So we don’t yet know if this particular Republican Nazi instigated a plain old robbery that went horribly wrong, or if the victim’s ethnicity — ya know, we hear quite a bit on Fox “News” that those immigrants and A-rabs are waging a take-over of America after all — came into play. So where are the Republican Terror Warriors on these matters? And why aren’t they calling for an immediate crack down?
Oh, yeah, they’re too busy being personally offended, for some reason, by Department of Homeland Security reports identifying a rise in Rightwing extremism and the threat it poses, such as “a perceived lack of government action on illegal immigration [which] has the potential to incite individuals or small groups toward violence. If such violence were to occur, it likely would be isolated, small-scale, and directed at specific immigration-related targets.”
Rightwing whack jobs like Michelle Mulkin, of course, derided that DHS report as a “hit job on conservatives”, as did RedState.org’s Moe Lane and the rest of the usual wingnut suspects who thought it necessary to defend their extremist brethren.
Of course, in the face of such mighty blowback — even though the DHS report was initiated by the Bush Administration — the pathetic Democrats found little choice but to cower in fear, apologize and retract the report. They didn’t bother retracting the (Bush Administration’s) previous report on “Left-Wing Extremism: The Current Threat” of course, because, well, Malkin, Drudge, Fox and the rest didn’t bother issuing a complaint about that one for some reason.
As we noted on Christmas Eve, following an eight-hour hostage stand-off in Virginia, when another rightwinger, certain the federal government wanted to take his guns away, luckily released all of his hostages unharmed…

When Congress returns after the New Year Senator Jim DeMint will introduce a Bill forbidding the prosecution of anyone named or nicknamed Bubba for any real or imagined offense, criminal or otherwise.The bill applies to everything from robbery, murder to driving on the wrong side of the street. Reportedly it’s the only thing the GOP, TeaBaggers, C Street and the so called religious right could intellectually agree upon. God Bless America

Have you ever noticed when they have David Duke on TV they never mention that he was an elected REPUBLICAN? But if someone even remotely connected to the Democratic Party has a problem, they never let the connection rest.
