In an item I posted back in August, I mentioned that Michael Moore had video footage of then-nominee for CIA Director, Porter Goss, saying “I couldn’t get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified…” etc.
Just last night, reader “G” (Email address is in the comment, but I’ll be kind enough to not post it here) had this to say:
WOW, I GUESS THERE REALLY IS AN ARGUMENT THAT SOME PEOPLE SHOULDNT VOTE. YOURE ONE OF THEM. MAYBE YOU SHOULD DO SOME RESEARCH. MOORE’S FILM IS FABRICATED FROM START TO FINISH, AND THE SLEAZY TRICKS HE PULLS DESTROY ALL CREDIBILITY. HE BELONGS IS JAIL. WERE THIS AN EARLIER TIME, HED BE SWINGING FROM A TREE.

Although I’m not a fan of Michael Moore at all, I’ll try to defend him from the CAPS LOCK attack.
His film isn’t *all* lies. He did tell the truth throughout much of the movie. Some stuff doesn’t line up timeline wise – the oil pipeline, abandoned before Bush even took office, whereas other stuff would be considered streaching the truth. Moore simply told many half truths. His points were true – but only from a certain point of view. His bias didn’t show both sides of the issue, but it wasn’t blatant lies.
A blatant lie would be something to the extent of – "George W. Bush was never the Governor of Texas, but a Senator from Oklahoma."
I have no idea what "G" was trying to say about not voting – everyone should vote. Its not like choosing a spouse where you can choose to be single your whole life. If you don’t attempt to choose a President, one will be chosen for you by others.
I’ll comment that if you decide not to vote and are of legal requirement to do so, don’t bitch about stuff that isn’t going the way you would like.
