It’s a well-deserved “Spring Break” for the Malloys, so once again, we’re thrilled to be back and “keepin’ it lit” for the next six weeknights as guest host for the nationally syndicated Mike Malloy Show!
We’ll be BradCasting LIVE again each night from 9pm-Mid ET (6p-9p PT), coast-to-coast and around the globe from the studios of L.A.’s KTLK am1150. Join us by tuning in, chatting in, Tweeting in and calling in! Our LIVE and lively chat room will be up and rolling right here at The BRAD BLOG, as ever, during the show. So please come on by and say hey while you’re listening! (The Chat Room will open at the bottom of this item a few minutes before airtime, see down below, just above “Comments” section.)
Scheduled tonight (so far):
- REP. JACK KIMBLE (R) Yes, a GOP U.S. Congressman has agreed to come on the Mike Malloy Show (Don’t tell Mike!) tonight to talk about his support for rolling back some child labor laws(!) and whether he’ll be joining every other R in the world considering a run for President in 2012. The Congressman represents California’s 54th district, and we promised to let folks know you can, and should follow him on Twitter at: @RepJackKimble.
- IAN MURPHY, Editor of Buffalo Beast and the guy who punk’d WI Gov. Scott Walker when he called him pretending to be “David Koch”! Murphy is now running for the U.S. Congress in NY’s 26th, and this time, we think, he’s not kidding!
- JOE LINEHAN Chicago’s brilliant and extremely subversive political satirist, and man of many characters, joins us for our special First Day of April edition of the Mike Malloy Show!
- PLUS: Has there been anything else in the news since we were last guest hosting the Malloy Show in early Feb? Any popular uprisings, new wars, natural disasters or nuclear catastrophes? Sigh… All of that, and your calls at 877-520-1150 and tweets to @TheBradBlog!…
The Mike Malloy Show is nationally syndicated on air affiliates across the country and also on Sirius Ch. 146 & XM Ch. 167. You may also listen online to the free LIVE audio stream at affiliate GREEN 960 in San Francisco or via MikeMalloy.com.
POST-SHOW UPDATE: What a fun show! I’ll not give anything away, in case you’ve yet to listen, as the audio archives are now posted below (along with archives for the chat room, if you’re interested)…
(Each “Hour” actually 38 mins, now that commercials are removed.)
HOUR 1: We were honored to be joined by GOP U.S. Congressman Jack Kimble from California’s 54th, even if his new proposal is, shall we say, somewhat disturbing. To say the least. Please listen and let us know what you think…

We need to get guests on familiar with the State Bank of North Dakota to teach us what that thing is all about.
We also would benefit from an update from Richard Gage on his April 3rd through April 18th Midwest Tour of the United States.

In other news… Keep it lit. Looking forward to it.
LIVE CHAT ROOM DURING THE SHOW (6p-9p PT) IS RIGHT UP ABOVE! SCROLL UP IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR IT!!!
Glad you have a megaphone tonight.
Appreciate all your coverage about Japan crisis, but hope you will not loose focus on blackbox voting and the treason being committed by koch brothers and criminal cohorts.
Brad, there is NO California congressman named Kimble. He is a hoax. see

I think that guy was punking all of us!
LOOK at the pic he has here on the issue!!! THOSE sad old pics of kids!!
Another guy got punk’d here: http://thepoliticalcarnival.net...p-jack-kimble/
I almost got in a wreck when he said: oh, 10 year old kids have such nimble fingers… That has to be a joke, I know. Didn’t you get punk’d?? PLEASE say YES!!
oh, Thank you! I was in and out of car, and must have been the April Fool’s day info. Watched Rachel M. show those images last night, read up on Maine so wasn’t surprised at his goals; just the age (40 hour weeks for 14 year olds!!)I am glad it was just a ‘joke’ and crossing my fingers that it remains ONLY a good gag and not reality coming…
You do know that Kimble is satire, right? Not a real politician? His website is a joke. Am hoping you weren’t punked.

Awesome gig …
While you were doing the April Fool’s joke, some real govt. officials are promoting it: http://www.firedupmissouri.com/...r-laws-already
SB 222 ““ This act modifies the child labor laws. It eliminates the prohibition on employment of children under age fourteen. Restrictions on the number of hours and restrictions on when a child may work during the day are also removed. It also repeals the requirement that a child ages fourteen or fifteen obtain a work certificate or work permit in order to be employed. Children under sixteen will also be allowed to work in any capacity in a motel, resort or hotel where sleeping accommodations are furnished. It also removes the authority of the director of the Division of Labor Standards to inspect employers who employ children and to require them to keep certain records for children they employ. It also repeals the presumption that the presence of a child in a workplace is evidence of employment. http://www.senate.mo.gov/11info...BillID=4124271
Oh Yeah, it’s happening!
Retribution against walker and his union-hating cronies will be swift and severe.
BREAKING NEWS: First Republican Recalled in Wisconsin! BREAKING NEWS: Wisconsin Democrats just announced that local activists submitted over 100% of the signatures needed to “recall” Republican state senator Dan…

Polly Anna @ 10 quoted:
As noted during the show, the bill in MO is now dead.
As also noted, the one in Maine is not dead. Unfortunately.
My apologies! I was unaware that the new 3/31 version of the True Vote Model (TVM) was not avalable for editing by anyone other than myself. I assumed that the update would allow access as before. I was wrong. Butt its OK now. For all of you who tried unsuccessfully to use the model last night on the Bradcast, try it now:
https://spreadsheets.google.com...0D5VI_eg#gid=0
And let me know if you have a problem. Use the chat feature in the TVM.
Thanks,
tia
Brad:
You’ll want to review this in detail:

Check out these new high res images of the Fukushima site.

Any discussion of covering this entire mess in concrete is absurd. Calculate the area, the quantity of concrete required, and the process by which it might ever be contemplated.
I mean seriously. Optimism is completely uncalled for. Mankind has demonstrated it is capable of breaking something to an extent beyond its ability to “repair” – setting in motion an event that it cannot “stop.”
Hubris has a name and a face.
THIS is the latest version of the TVM.
https://spreadsheets.google.com...EN-EgZhQ#gid=0
But from now on, go here for the latest Google DOC model link:
http://richardcharnin.com/TrueV...ingStarted.htm
This way, I won’t have to keep notifying users if there are any issues – like not being able to access the TVM or unable to input data. Both occurred due to problems in the updates over the past few days.
Once again, my apologies. Those who got into the model last night were unable to edit Apparently Google failed to maintain full public editing/access. So try it now,
I will keep earlier version backups just in case.
We should be accurate about the recall situation in Wisconsin.
The “headline” I have seen all too often, including above @ #11:
“BREAKING NEWS: First Republican Recalled in Wisconsin!”
This is NOT true. What has happened is this: for one radical reich state senator there have been submitted what are thought to be enough signatures to mandate a recall election.
Before there can be such election, the appropriate election officials must verify that every single petition signer is a current registered voter.
Assuming this is the case, only then is the recall election held.
The senator is recalled ONLY when the majority vote for the recall.
If the senator is recalled in the first election, then another election is held to determine a replacement.
If Wisconsin’s recall laws are like those I’ve dealt with, the very same recalled senator is eligible to run in the election to fill the senate seat just vacated by the successful recall election.
As you recall big money in elections is what has caused the problems for Wisconsin. The reich’s money will flow freely again.
To assume these elections are already won OR that the recall has already been accomplished is to recklessly manage expectations and energy of those who are needed to actually achieve the recall and replacement of reich legislators.
Brad,
Unless we find an all-male species to counter the recently discovered all-female species that gives virgin birth, you should turn the show over to Des.
