- OBAMA’S IMMIGRATION POLICY SURPRISE Today’s surprise announcement that the President was ordering the Dept. of Homeland Security to stop deporting “DREAM ACT-eligible” immigrants (younger than 16 when brought here by their parents), has shaken up election year politics today and brought out the usual loons. But we’ll talk about what may be the most important lesson from today’s news.
- RICK PILTZ, formerly a Senior Associate in the Office of the Federal Climate Science Program, until resigning in 2005 as a whistleblower during the Bush Administration, charging that they were censoring global warming science from White House science reports. He went on to create ClimateScienceWatch.org and was arrested along with NASA’s James Hansen while protesting against the Keystone XL pipeline at the White House in 2011. I was the first to do a full-length radio interview with Piltz, on my old weekend radio show, on June 18, 2005, just after he blew the whistle. This will be our first conversation since then!

You’re doing a great thing. I appreciate your comments and criticism, even, or especially those directed at President Obama or Democrats when you see it appropriate. Keep it up because it DOES work sometimes in important ways. But, I think we also should be working on activating voters for strategic voting. That is, we should not throw away votes to 3rd party candidates. Some talk as if that’s “punishing” the President or “that’ll teach those Democrats.” Politics just doesn’t work that way. 3rd parties don’t work – even Ross Perot realized that after his run. They only empower the political side the voter MOST opposes. The way to change the direction of political parties is from within – it’s always worked that way. That’s a lesson the tea party applied to their benefit with the Republican Party. I like to think I “occupy” the Democratic Party. As a County Chairman, for example, that enables me to speak out on things like voter verified elections, supervising the vote count and to change party positions like the wording in our party’s platform. I’ve sent my sometimes strong criticism directly to the President. I’m in Texas and here we have the Green Party over in the corner doing their thing and it isn’t accomplishing squat for their agenda really. All it does is make it harder on progressive Democrats to move the state in a more progressive direction. So use your good platform to encourage people, especially young people, to register, bring their agenda, their complaints and their ideas and occupy the heck out of the Democratic Party. The truth is that at the grassroots, where it really counts, we are very progressive.

Sorry, the Dem party is gone. Lost in that bubble that surrounds our wealthy elites… utterly disconnected from reality.
You have Ed Rendell casually saying on the air that that the Dems will indeed use the lame duck session to implement Bowles-Simpson, Obama’s hand picked catfood commission.
Dems have made the decision to cripple Social Security and Medicare and set it up for the corporate kill.
They’ve been working hard at it
since before Obama was elected and
after November they will complete
the task.
There’s no “lesser” evil to vote for.
The 1% use both parties to run a
protection racket… the Dems to
handle the extortion and the GOP
to provide the muscle.
The Dem party is beyond saving and it’s time to stop giving in to the terrorists.
