As I was wandering around the Fiber Festival of New England on Saturday, which was full of wool labeled by breed, I started thinking of the bumper sticker I would have loved, "The only Romney I want is a sheep." See, e.g., Romney sheep.

IMO Rove hesitated on pulling the trigger until they were sure that one of the other states Romney needed fell. It was almost like the hammer was pulled back but didn't execute, no sense in risking exposure needlessly.
The look on his face during those minutes...

Feeling a sort of delicious, poignant little Cassandra moment this morning. Thanks, Brad, Ernie, and tribe members everywhere!!! We came close to running the table last night despite all the shit lined up against us. And ya know, maybe one day we'll even be recognized for how much we've done by a larger general public. In the meantime, I am so very, very, very glad to have met you all and to be able to do this work together, ethereally as it is in terms of face to face notness. Much love, Dave

Brad: I appreciate all the great fantastic vote related coverage. You shine brightest during election time. Great job, as always. Keep it up.
That goes without saying, but it needs to be said once in a while!!!

I think that "wait time" could be the voting integrity wedge issue for looking into all sorts of voter suppression and election fraud issues. Photo ID is something that creates massive wait times for no benefit. So does corruption. So does illegitimate voter list purges.
Most importantly, it is something VISIBLE and UNDERSTANDABLE, the sort of hook that has been missing to many of the things we have been trying to sound the alarm about. NO ONE thinks it is right or fair or acceptable for lines to be 6 hours long (even those who engineered it to suppress votes can't admit they did it on purpose).

When The President mentioned "We have to fix that," I yelled out a WHOA-A-A! FINALLY!
So much work ahead, and it would be a mistake to let the inertia slow down after the election.
I honestly felt this was an "election" instead of a "selection".
The thing that makes me MOST happy is seeing how Adelson and both Kochs pissed away millions, and Karl Rove's hissy fit on Fox...what a fricken big-time LOSER.

We have to begin by getting rid of the Help America Vote Act. It does more harm than good. Like everything else that the Republicans have crafted, its a sham.
Get rid of the voting machines. Go to paper ballots and hand count them. Machines are too easy to hack.

Any way you can look into this ballot measure that we are all suspicious was manipulated. As you well know we use 100% unverifiable electronic voting in Louisiana. People are reporting that at first the measure was defeated. Then by some miracle they found a few votes that had not been counted in the middle of the night. Changed this race but none of the others...

"... By the way, we have to fix that." - President Barack Obama, November 6th, 2012
I'm sure he'll get right on that. This from the tool who put banksters in charge of the economy that banksters had just wrecked.

I can't believe that not one news service or TV channel questioned him saying we got Osama when no one ever found dialysis equipment to prove it and Bhutto had said he was dead.
Also, why would anyone vote against CA's prop 37? Do people care that their food is poison or were their programs used to defeat 37?

I wouldn't interpret that as a promise, only a recognition that it is a problem. Good luck getting this machine issue out of the hands of the Republican owners. It's a part of their leverage in elections.

Goodbye U.S.A. Voters Commit National Suicide
Rep. Ron Paul, whose maverick presidential bids shook the GOP, said in the wake of this week's elections that the country has already veered over the fiscal cliff and he sees no chance of righting ship in a country where too many people are dependent on government.
"We're so far gone. We're over the cliff," the Texas Republican told Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop" program. "We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next 5-10 years who will do wise things."
Mr. Paul, who is retiring after 12 terms in the House, said voters on Tuesday rejected Mitt Romney because he had opposed the government bailout of General Motors and Chrysler.
"The people in the Midwest voted against him: 'Oh, we have to be taken care of!' So that vote was sort of like what we are laughing at in Greece," Mr. Paul said.
"People do not want anything cut," he said. "They want all the bailouts to come. They want the Fed to keep printing the money. And they don't believe that we've gone off the cliff or are close to going off the cliff. They think we can patch it over, that we can somehow come up with some magic solution. But you can't have a budgetary solution if you don't change what the role of government should be. As long as you think we have to police the world and run this welfare state, all we are going to argue about is who will get the loot."
Victory is sweet Brad, but in the end we're all screwed.

@Mark Which is a lie, because Greece has one of the smallest, most informal welfare states, highest work hours and lowest domestic spending as a percentage of GDP in Europe. The entire core of Greece's problems are that they severely cooked the books they presented to the EU for entry, and between that and a significant chunk of all planetary financial assets disappearing in 2007 and 2008 with a lot of the twisted veins of "contaigon" going through Greek banks, collapsed their credit rating and financial market. On the whole the Mediterranean economies, with their conservative outlook, comparatively smaller welfare states to their norther neighbors, and surpluses in the case of Spain and Ireland, are in deep shit, while the countries running on the Nordic model of socialism with Scandanavian characteristics largely escaped unscathed. Finland, one of the most socialist and with a 250% debt to GDP ratio, is the only country in Europe left with a AAA credit rating. How do you explain that?
You may wish to live in a fantasy land where the free market is a system of infallible perfection, but here in the real world, the law of the jungle produces a hierarchy from the winners and losers that ends in an oligarchy as powerful as any junta. The only countries that can boast high literacy, standards of living, autonomy, economic competitiveness, innovation, financial stability, and low crime, recidivism, environmental degradation, terrorism and ultranationalism are the countries running on socialism with Scandanavian, Korean and Ubuntu characteristics.
And since Obama said it, if we pressure him through solid NGO lobbies like the SPLC and ACLU, he'll be forced to act on the matter. And since elections corruption is tied directly with campaign finance corruption, hard work on our part would probably net two birds with one stone.
