It’s a shame that stations get away with it – the FCC is so removed from enforcing broadcasting in the “public interest” that talk radio personalities just lie at will, even if the listeners are negatively affected.
Here’s what that looks like: The day before the election, Sean Hannity wanted the response to Sandy to reflect negatively on Obama. So he announced that there were “minimum four hour lines” for gasoline “all over the region” when access to gas was actually almost back to normal around the region.
He said there was looting, rationing and “people screaming for help” when we were actually a few days past that point. The same week, he was also caught falsifying audio to smear unions and has failed so far to address the deception.
