(Did he ever leave?)
And Republicans act like they care about vote fraud.

From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Twenty-one of 22 Democrats walked out of the Senate chamber for about 30 minutes Friday evening following a vote that lowered the number of pieces of identification acceptable for voting. Senate Bill 84 would require photo identification from the Department of Motor Vehicle Safety to vote.

Democrats said they had serious voting rights concerns about the bill and worried that elderly and the poor wouldn't be able to get photo IDs.

Tim Golden (D-Valdosta), head of the Democratic Caucus, said, “White Democrats joined black ones to show their solidarity.”

He spoke of “the irony of getting rid of Jim Crow laws tomorrow while putting another on the books today.”

Republican sponsors of the bill said it was an effort to cut down on voter fraud. But Democratic critics compared it to the poll taxes, literacy tests and other laws aimed at suppressing black votes during segregation.

The AP version of the same story, by the way, quotes one Republican with the audacity to say: [emphasis added]

"My intention was to make sure in Georgia that next election, or down the road, we don't end up with all the lawsuits or all the voter irregularities we've heard about," said Sen. Cecil Staton, R-Macon, the bill's sponsor.

Is that really your "intention", Senator? If so, we hope you'll endorse Velvet Revolution's "Divestiture for Democracy" campaign immediately, sir. Please feel free to email us with your intention to do so or if you'd like further information on how we can really take steps to avoid "voter irregularities".

By the way, the voters weren't irregular at all. We haven't heard of too many "lawsuits" against voters for committing fraud, have you? And we've heard of not a single instance where a photo ID would have changed a damn thing beyond continuing to supress the minority vote.

The election, on the other hand, sir, was marred beyond a shadow of legitimacy thanks to the way lawmakers like you determined the votes of the people would be "counted". Jerk.

The return to Jim Crow has been one of the most disturbing developments to me. My mother was a peace activist and I grew up in he Civil Rights days. I was young and impressionable and I know the struggle these people went through. I also know the joys. The music, the beautiful speeches, and the ultimate success.

I am heartbroken, but there are reasons for this. What has happened to bring about this denial of rights? I am more worried about the fundamentals of our society and our relinquishing of power, than I am about the criminals who take advantage of the weakness.

Actually, "Jim Crow" never left. Black voter supression has always been there. And it's getting worse, in some places, instead of better. Why? Because they're being allowed to get away with it.

Even if you remove this issue of the hacking of Diebold machines, etc., a non-disenfranchised minority vote in Ohio, New Mexico (more Indian and Latin vote there), and Florida would have won Kerry those States. If you check Greg Palast's website, he does a lot of research on this very issue. It's just as big as the Diebold scandal. And it's been going on longer.

Richard Daley's voter fraud in Illinois put John F. Kennedy over the top in the election Kennedy won, but it would have been a moot point if it weren't for the widespread disenfranchisement of minority voters that was in place then. And it's gone unchecked.

Thank you, Brad - you said it much better than I could. Hope you bring this up at your next visit to a radio station.

Tell me, is there any progress on getting the courts to demand an investigation the code on the touch-screen voting machines and vote tabulators in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania?

Anytime you attempt to stop voter fraud the Democrats come unglued. I have to provide ID when I charge items on my charge card, buy a firearm, purchase a car, buy a hunting license, apply for a loan, buy a house, get stopped by a police officer, and on and on and on.

The only reason Democrats childlishly walked out on this issue is they new it means several thousand fewer votes for them in high fraud precincts.

Too BAD!

Get a clue you America haters here at the Bradblog: America is sick of liberals.

Hey Brad: better be careful what new you make up on this blog. You might end up in jail with the Apple boys.

Say, how is Sgrena anyway? Last I heard, Italian Generals were telling the Turkish Press that they were instructed NOT to tell the Americans the operation was in progress.

Hey Frankenfish in order to get a driver's license to begin with you have to present a birth certificate as proof of identification. In order to be enrolled in public schools you must present a birth certificate. In order to obtain immigrant visas a birth certificate is required. To get married a birth certificate is acceptable, and on and on and on. If the government thinks birth certificates are just fine for all this then why do repugs like yourself think its not good enough to vote? Moron. You must be related to Jim Crow, he's probably your uncle.

Jail? Every republican politician belongs in jail. They can start with Tom Delay, he'll be the jail boss, then throw in Feeney and the others. Of course you can join them, they will want a little sissy boy to have their way with, I'm sure Jeff Gannon will be busy pimping the streets.

#6 - just ignore frankenbush - he's just a sniveling coward, hiding behind the secrecy of the internet. He wouldn't have the balls to spew his bullshit to anyone in person. If anyone is an America hater, it's this piece of shit, because he doesn't want the truth to be heard. I know a lot of liberal war vets who would love to meet him and hear his speech in person. Doubt that he would call them America haters to their face!

Ya just gotta realise sooner or later that America is laughing at you nitwits! I mean how long can you think you make a single tiny bit of difference in this great country of ours!

Now the liberals are pointing to a drop in military applications as proof Bush is stretching the military too far. Well guess what morons: Odds are that those that are not attempting to join now WOULD HAVE BEEN WASHED OUT ANYWAY!

So get a clue: our best 1/10 of 1% of young men & women are working hard to get into military academies like West Point, Air Force Academy, and the Naval Academy.

You doped up ignorant America haters here are the laughing stock of real America.

I hope I don't put your lizard brain into an endless loop, Frankenbush, but if we are so insignificant, why are you wasting your time here?

My problem is that you brown shirts all look the same. The Republican mother ship beams picks the days tired old insults at random, beams them down every morning and you playground bully clones just parrot them back. You don't have the mental capacity to say anything substantive and there really is no point in responding. Smetimes, though, it is necessary to spray the house for roaches, isn't it, Brad?

Speaking of "laughing stocks"...Just so you folks know (in case you didn't already realize) Frankenbush is the cowardly wingnut who previously posted here as Atty Jim and Taco Tom.

Apparently he's to frightened to stick with one name, given the horseshit he posts. I guess I'd be ashamed of myself too.

In any case, your posts will be removed again if you change names again Atty Jim/Frankenbush. Try and show even the *tiniest* amount of courage by choosing only one fake name to hide behind. Thanks!

Hey Brad. Is the Tom Golden (D) mentioned in the post from the same town that was investigating the Lemme murder? Valdosta after his name???

... peterpont said on 3/13/2005 @ 7:25 pm PT...

Sorry, It is Tim Golden and he is indeed from the same Valdosta as In Ray Lemme death.
I have contacted him and asked for a return to acknowledge interest in the Lemme matter.
We will see.

Brad, I'd already figured the Wankenbush and the Atty. were one and the same. Same pointless rhetoric, which is only there to bait.

The voting system in America is not representative - that's the bottom line.

VotersUnite.org's Daily Voting News 'Daily Voting News'
For October 15, 2008

by John Gideon

20 days until Election Day.

“Experts” are all speaking out and warning of voting meltdowns across the country. Where were these “experts” six months ago? Where have they been since the last national election? Why have they not spoken out against these same voting systems that they are concerned about now? Of course it wasn’t political for them to take a position against the use of these machines until now.

1-866-OUR-VOTE; 1-866-MY-VOTE1 and now YouTube and WiredNews all want voters to report when they have problems voting. And what will happen with the data collected by these groups? Will any of it be compiled and released after the election? Probably not a lot of it is my guess....
