Thanks to Bradblogger Tracy, Clint Curtis will have a new German Shepherd in December to replace the one he lost under mysterious circumstances after becoming a whistleblower in the Yang Enterprises, Inc., Tom Feeney vote-rigging scandal. It is possible that Ray Lemme was not the only one “suicided” in that sordid affair.

Now, YOU will have a chance to name Clint's new dog.

For those of you who are experts in the lingo of dog breeding and championship K9's, Tracy writes, “the first two photos that I'm sending are of the "mother" (so much nicer than bitch). Her name is Sophie. Her lines are out of Winsome Kennels which has bred some of the finest German Shepherds in America and sends frequent visitors to Westminster.

“The third photo is of the sire. He is deceased but it will be a frozen fatherhood. He was AOE US Select #2 Am Can Ch Saterhaus McKinley ROM ROMC TC HC HIC CD (ed.note: got that?). This dog will always be remembered as one of the most beautiful dogs in the breed. Sadly he was a very underused dog, although even with a very small number of litters he still won the much desired ROM title. Which means that 10 or more of his progeny have received Championship titles.”

Pretty neat parents, don't you think? Just too bad about the sire being “very underused”. Oh well, happens to the best of us. Anyway, you can click on this LINK to see these handsome members of their species.

Once you've had a good gander, hopefully it will all come together for you and the winning name will hit you like a rubber chew toy to the forehead! Once that happens, click on the comments button below and post your lucky entry. While entering this contest does not require that you make a contribution to the Bradblog fundraiser and we are not tracking who does or doesn't, it is HIGHLY recommended that you make some kind of contribution, big or small because: Brad is worth it! AND if you win you will get a real keen Brad Bobblehead Doll! All entries must be in by closing time Sunday night. Oops, we never close at the Brad Blog, so get them in by midnight. Clint will pick the winning entry and the lucky labeler will be named on Monday. Please scroll through previous entries because, in the event of duplicate names, the earliest entry for that name will be the winner. Go to it!

A name befitting a dog of that lineage: Toaster.

I guess we don't know the sex of the dog yet, but my suggestion is... wait for it...

BRAD.

Okay, now wait, there's more to it than the obvious. Yesterday my beloved dog--whose name was, in fact, Brad--left us. Brad was only 8 years old and had leukemia.

His passing hit my family real hard. Because Brad defied all expectations. He was a pit bull/ridgeback mix (hence the name Brad... Pit... Bull) yet was quiet and gentle friend to my toddler daughter. But Brad was also a political activist. On many nights Brad would accompany me as we left Election Fraud flyers and slapped up Bush Cheated '04 bumper stickers all over Los Angeles.

So now that Brad the dog has passed on, with a tip of the hat to the founder of this blog, I humbly suggest Mr. Curtis' new pup carry on the name and Brad's canine activism.

Oh, and if it's a girl, well... how about Neo-Connie? ;)

I was going to suggest "FEENEYGATE" for the dog's name, but I think "BRADPUP" is better.

Tom Feeney should be the name. Probably unfair to the dog, but a certain satisfaction derived from each time you have him sit, or lie down.

Frankly speaking

If the dog is a female: Blossom, Bubbles, or Buttercup.

The Power Puff Girls is a guilty pleasure I've held in for a long time. But they are always ready, willing, and able to fight evil-doers like Feeney and Mojo Jojo.

If it's a male: Itchy or Scratchy.
They don't fight evil, but they do fight.

P.S. It's wise not to give a dog a one syllable name. Most commands are one syllable. You might confuse the dog.

I suggest you name the puppy the way I named our beloved pet. Put the puppy in the middle of the room about 3-4 feet away from you. Then call every name that comes to mind. When you call the puppy's name, it will look at you, wag it's tail, and come over to you. That is how we named Annie and she never fails to laugh (wag her tail) when we call her. Congratulations on the new little delight for your life.

As this dog is going to be a German Shepherd, here are a couple of german words to consider as names:
Wahlstimme- Vote (you could call him/her "wally")
Takelung- rig
Haustier- pet
Skandal- scandal
Wahrheit- truth
Lugen- lie
Freiheit- liberty (you call him/her "fry")

Somewhat lame after some of the others,
but here goes................ "D for" as in D for Democracy???

Guess I'd better keep that day job, Huh?

or "Vigilance" Here Vigilance! Here Vigilance! Nuh,
it's not working......shortened to "Vigil" [Middle English vigile, a devotional watching, from Old French, from Latin vigilia, wakefulness, watch, from vigil, awake.]

More German Names:

Ballard (warrior)

Brita (strength)

Omni (The best duel fighter)

Polizei ( police)

Shantie (peace)

Tyr (Prononced TEER) The original Germanic god of war and the patron god of justice, the precursor of Odin. At the time of the Vikings, Tyr had to make way for Odin, who became the god of war himself. Tyr was by then regarded as Odin's son (or possibly of the giant Hymir). He is the boldest of the gods, who inspires courage and heroism in battle. His attribute is a spear; the symbol of justice, as well as a weapon.

Ooo - I can't stop:

Beowulf ...

Briefly, it is the poetic presentation of a man Beowulf as the ideal example of Germanic heroic culture, treated for a Christian audience with an explicit symbolism of the conflict of man with the powers of evil.

In its dramatic portrayal of moments of high adventure and tragedy in the life of its hero, it employs parallelism, contrast, and a kind of tragic irony through allusive echoes of Germanic heroic lays and historic traditions well-known to its listeners, and it presents a universally appealing tragedy of the human predicament.

The bravery of a man named, Clinton Eugene Curtis and his telling truth to the nation about corruption to the top and all involved will go down in the history books one day.
You and you alone give me the hope and faith.. to go on from the last 3 stolen federal elections. Justice will be done one day. It has to be exposed or we have no democracy and no voice. Over 100 million americans do not vote. They say, why bother? This is what the corrupt love, to see people stop having a voice.

You, Clinton Curitis have given 160 million americans.. a voice. You have told us what you did even though it endangered your life. I say.. thank you.. thank you so much.. for this. I have written to the FBI several times.. to protect you.. to look out for you.. to keep you safe.
This dog will be your strength.. your love... your comfort on those nights when you lay in bed and think.. and think. This dog.. needs a special name. To represent you. My name would be INTEGRITY. Just a simple word. INTEGRITY. TEGGIE FOR SHORT .
A word that jr bush.. will never understand. A word that Tom Feeney will never understand, but who John Kerry understood very very well.

sincerely yours,

frances l. bright

Comment #3 and others:

I live on 10 acres and, in order to call the dog, I need a name that is short and that I can make loud. This was the biggest criteria in choosing a name for the dog. That was also why "OOF" couldn't win.

Those are incredibly kind words.

"Integrity" or "Teggie" are still a little "quiet" for me to call a dog up to 10 acres away.

Clint was on the road and not able to be on-line when I spoke with him Monday afternoon (early evening his time) to get his selection for the "Clint Curtis Puppy Naming Contest". Since I had to read each name and comment to him, I tried to write his words down verbatim when he had something interesting or funny to say. He gave me permission to post those responses in his name.

Everyone should know that getting to interact with Clint and even to get to know him a little was one of the bigger rewards (among many) that I got for helping put this event together. Not only is he a great American, he is one fun and witty guy! He was always modest and self-effacing, about as down-to-earth as you could imagine and incredibly quick-witted. I didn't post the following remark directly to Clint's name because I can't remember which comment or comments he was referring to when he said "Brad's has too smart of an audience for me....I'm kind of a moron." He obviously isn't anything of the sort, but that is the kind of humble, self-deprecating (but always in a humorous kind of way) guy he seemed to be.

Thanks, Clint, it was an honor. Send us some pictures of your puppy when you get it!

Steve

VotersUnite.org's Daily Voting News 'Daily Voting News' For August 27, 2008
by John Gideon

Today Premier/Diebold has again had to accepted the blame for voting machine failures. This time the optical scan machines that had tallied absentee ballots in Sarasota County would not upload the totals to the main server and refused to post elections in Hillsborough County. Election officials in Sarasota ended-up having to count 10,000 ballots by hand. It is a good thing they had the paper ballots to count by hand or those votes would have been lost....
